I dont understand some people on this board. Would you rather throw away 750k a year on fargas and get smoked every year with no one in the stands or lose 750k anyway but have a packed house and win a few championships. The only difference is one coach wins one coach sucks. Still throwing away 750k

In this case, you might have to spend more money to lose less money

Correct but I think it's worth it. It's either get nothing for nothing or something for nothing.

How would hiring Kim Mulkey not be a huge deal?

Mulkey will be a tough pull for a lot of reasons but Woodard has shown he can pull off not so likely hires. She has been at Baylor nearly 20 years and hasn't lost 100 games yet. She has won 3 national titles. There is no doubt she is one of the top 2 or 3 coaches in WBB. The fact that they are one of the only bright spots in Baylor athletics also means they will do everything they can to keep her. She has to have a reason besides money to want to leave.

In terms of athletic budget and salary, I don't think paying a guaranteed home run WBB coach will be an issue. It's not like we would be taking a chance on an up and comer or an above average coach. Our major revenue and only profitable sports (football, MBB, and baseball) are in great positions right now imo to maintain and/or exceed our current success and profits. While we may have the capability to pay her whatever is necessary, I do not believe that is what gets her to leave Baylor anyway.

Our WBB program right now is dead and all you have to do is look back to the Pokey days to see what it could be. Hell that's the only time most of us ever even watched or cared about LSU WBB.

Exactly!

Except, I watched the team when they had Marie Ferdinand and Katrina Hibbert, during the late 90s and early 2000s, when they were making it to sweet sixteens consistently.

Not sure how you concluded hiring a three time national winning coach is not a huge deal. It would be a huge deal.

Not to mention a desperate fan base looking for any reason to “try” and be relative in the football world..........hence the 75mill deal with Jimbo ......WITH NO BUYOUT! As an AD that’s a stupid deal for any coach not named Saban.....but that’s what it took for the desperate to get some lime light.....

That shite won’t fly down here. And he knows it.

-Their football team went to the Texas Bowl.
-The men's basketball team made the NCAA Tournament.
-The baseball team is currently ranked #18

I agree that Baylor will do all they can to keep her, but it's not as if she's the only show in town.

BTW, I've been on the Fire Nikki.....Hire Kim bandwagon on here for many years, not just recently because it's suddenly popular.

I've got zero tolerance for negligent, dysfunctional and incompetent HC's (And Assistant Coaches) at LSU.

Can someone explain why Joe pushed her extension through? It makes zero sense. She should have been fired.
Because he was the one that hired her and Joe would have rather looked like he did the right thing than to actually do the right thing for LSU.

Joe had an agenda since the jump. That was my biggest concern about the football program- While it looks like everything’s heading in the right direction, I felt like Joe was never going to pull the plug on O.

No offense but if Women's basketball is one of his priorities I will be surprised and he will be on the wrong track.

I’m sorry. I just can’t get excited about LSU paying big dollars for a sport very few people care about. I’d much rather Woodward spend AD money on revenue generating sports and capital projects (like a new pmac)
