What a weird thing to melt about considering all that’s going on.

You can’t really separate it from what’s going on. Excellence has left the building.

What’s the job qualifications for delivering coffee?

It’s a smear campaign on the family. Bad thread. Ed sucks arse and I want him gone. But complaining about the lowest analysts on staff is as much a reach as saying Ed threatened murder on Wednesday.

I don't think its necessary to shite on kids (young adults) getting their feet wet in the football industry, a profession their father has been in for like 30 years.

eh...

Father pulling a few strings to get them a job with friends in the industry, sure.

Father giving them jobs on his own staff...that's over the line.

Of this were the only issue, I’d agree that it isn’t that big a deal. But it’s just one more brick in the wall collapsing around him.

Very good point. Ed supporters will respond to every individual issue and say "you're being ridiculous, THIS isn't what you should be criticizing him over". In reality it's the accumulation of individual issues that have led Ed and the program to where they are now.

Yes I’ve said in other threads since last year that each individual issue with Ed is not that big a deal in isolation. But it’s the accumulation of all the little things compounded with the on field product.

It adds up to a picture of a guy in over his head and has not one ounce of self awareness to correct the problems.

Now list their qualifications and the qualifications of Ed’s sons.

I’m not going through that entire list but spot checking a few:
- Belichik’s hired both of his sons with no coaching experience. One played at Rutgers before that, and the other didn’t play college football.
- Brian Schottenheimer had one year of experience as an assistant when he was hired by his father.
- Wade Phillips had 2 years of experience as a high school coordinator when he was hired by his father as LB coach at Oklahoma State.
- Neither of Pete Carroll’s sons had any coaching experience when he hired them at USC (older son) and Seattle (younger son).
- Don Shula hired on of his sons, Dave, in Miami with no coaching experience.
- Bobby Bowden hired one of his sons, Terry, at Florida State with no coaching experience. He went in to hire another son, Jeff, with 3 years at the Division 2 level.

I’m sure the list goes on but I don’t really care to dive into it any more.

The point is that this is not at all uncommon. Coaches hire their kids all the time. Both of the Orgeron kids on the staff started as interns. One was on the staff before Ed even arrived here. There are plenty of reasons to be pissed at Orgeron right now but this one is relatively minor.

ETA: I see the posts saying it’s the “accumulation” of everything, and I get that. But let’s call a spade a spade - what we are actually saying is “I wouldn’t care about this if we were winning.” Which is kind of my point. It’s the on-field performance that is the problem. That’s enough in my eyes. I don’t think we need to grasp at straws.

agree with that, some of them did get that job due to thier fathers, others due to playing football in college and being grad assistants.

Eh, they ALL got their starts due to their fathers.

Idk but O is saying his next son has a spot in his staff too,

Everyone on here is saying it’s no big deal we have 12 analyst snd so on.

Apparently they’re cool with 25% of our analyst snd 50% of our offensive analyst being O’s sons because of Kyle Shannhahon lol
