This is not necessarily directed specifically at you per se, but There is an appropriate way to criticize, and an inappropriate way to criticize IMO. I think most reasonable people see what I'm getting at there. Many of the complaints and criticisms on this board sometimes don't get lent much credibility because of the way they are presented.

I can't defend him after that one anymore either. The confusion was his fault. Crowton is his fault. He was not in control. He was confused and fricking blew it.

I like the man, but that was inexcusable. I tried to find a way it wasn't that... but it is.

Totally agree. Nonetheless, I will continue to support LSU and whoever their coach is, and continue to hope for the best.

But, like I said, if we don't win the SEC West in 2010, I'm ready to go a different direction.

I stated pretty clearly he was at fault.

The other thread is about the stupid trash that can't move on and are all suddenly football geniuses calling for the man to be fired.

I can admit he screwed the pooch without wanting to fire him. Why? Because I think to fire him right now would be a gigantic mistake for our program. Just replace the offensive coaches and move forward. Worked on the defensive side pretty damn well.

Can you imagine trying to get a coach in here right now after we ran off a coach with Miles's record and an NC and an SEC Championship because we got three losses in a season?

THREE LOSSES GETS YOU FIRED AT LSU???

Nobody worth a shite would touch that with a ten foot pole.

So he gets another year.

And better NEVER frick up like that again.

I don't think fans being perturbed about having an offense this pitiful with the talent that LSU has indicates a bandwagon jumper. Likewise, being upset about the clock management against Ole Miss isn't either.

IMO one of the key decisions a HC has to make is who to hire for his coordinators. Les tried to bring his staff from OSU, but was rejected. Then when Jimbo left, he hired Mr. 106th in the country. When Pellini left, he promoted Malveto, then hired Chavis. He doesn't exactly have a great record on decision making whne he has time to think. Last week he showed he can't make even decent game management decisions when under pressure.

So - when the HC makes questionsable decsions when given time or not, and the program is clearly sliding downhill, is that really being a bandwagon jumper to point it out???

No, but a losing SEC record in your last 2 seasons should.

That's right. Bone-headed idiot + more losses than wins in the SEC = hire a competent, intelligent coach and don't look back.

And you think a new Offensive coaching staff and OC will do no better why exactly?

You do realize where our O is ranked right?

Is the Miles 'aura of dumb' just that powerful that it made The Wiz into a retard?

Get real people.

I assume that some of you wanted NicK Saban fired after the 2002 season and were glad when he left after the 2004 seasons? Did you call for his head? We lost to "inferior" opponents, and shoulda, coulda, woulda lost to a couple more in those years. Got absolutely embarrased and shutout in a few games against "equal" opponents. We had a poor QB situation in those years and a redshirt freshman QB who hadn't developed very far in the other season. Lost some games in late game collapses that seemed unbelievable. Had multiple NFL wr's on those teams, too. The only position on the field this year where i'll agree that we are far and above the SEC in talent level. We are young and very raw at OL and QB. Bad combo. Lost Bowl games equal to the ones we are going to this year.

Bottom line is that none of you, or I, know what the frick a "great" football coach is year to year, until the complete story of a career tells us what happened. The "I knew it" crowd is a group of know- nothing flakes. I absolutely hate what happened at Ole Miss and it is unexcusable, to an extent, but to make the statements some of you have made shows that attention spans are non existent in the world of college football fandom. Expectations and over inflated view of the "talent level" on this team compared to the rest of the SEC or the country as a whole has created a monster at LSU. LSU talent is always greater than anyone elses talent in the minds of the over-reacting, know-nothing, "I told you so" crowd.

Actually, yes I was. I was getting tired of him flirting with other job offers instead of just being like Urban Meyer is with the Notre Dame thing. But I had no idea we would go from a defensive guru to bozo the clown. So at this point, I'd take the flirting and ego gushing back in a heartbeat.

so you really liked the near losses to Troy and Oregon State? You were cool with the blowout losses to Bama and Auburn? You really dug the unbelievable end game breakdowns to Iowa and Arkansas? The bowl beatdown loss to Texas? The near loss to a Ron Zook led UF team? The getting outcoached all day long against a GUY MORRISS led UK, needing a ridiculously lucky Hail Mary to avoid losing five regular season games in his third season? Sure you did.

Although I like Les Miles as a man, and he is one of the top recruiters and "program managers" in the country IMO, if we do not win the SEC West in 2010, I think it's time to say, "thanks, Coach Miles, we appreciate everything you've done for us, but we need to move on."

Reasonable.

Although my criterion is, he needs to get to a BCS bowl.

Anything less, he should be gone.

I know we can't win it all every year but he's not getting paid 4 million a year to go perenially to non-BCS bowls while Florida and Alabama play for National Championshsips.
