Exactly. You don't know how Clemson's season would have turned out had they won the LSU game. When a team loses a big game like that, it is a huge emotional letdown that can result in poorer performances in the games that follow.

the first game LSU loses the sports media will drop them like a rock in the polls.

Notre Dame lost their first two games but the media has them ranked in the top 25; above teams that haven't lost a game at all.
