A few years back(2017) and lost to a better UF team. LSU then lost to the next 2 national Champs. If LSU crashes and burns and doesnt make a regional then yes he should get the Hot seat but i still think he gets one more year. I Know its a hard pill to swallow for some but its not like he has lost to ULL in the opening round of the regional.Let the downvotes begin

He's obviously getting another year if we cant get out regionals this year, but he really needs to do something next year if so. He's definitely approaching Les territory with the fanbase.

How can you possibly move on from a coach with such good losses?

Have you forgotten his first one was in 2009. So it took him 8 years to play in another one. Do we give him another 8 years from 2017?

Did they all get runner-up rings? Lsu baseball is measured by ncs. At least, it used to be.

I don’t believe this at all. If slaughter dosent have that interference at 2nd and we tie the game in game 2 it completely changes the series. Would have forced a game 3 we would have had Lange against one of their bullpen guys. They had some beastly pitchers but I think we were all around the better team that year. Sucks we didn’t win it

I know this is besides your point but had to throw that out there

The only reason LSU made the title game was because Oregon State and it's Heimlich Maneuver, if Heimlich plays same result as the next year.

Look, I'm not a big fan of Mainieri, but he DID make the CWS title series. There are no pedophile asterisks associated with it. LSU won those games on the field. You can look back at every season for every team and talk about how they got this break or that break. shite happens, but we don't re-examine every other team, so don't do that here.

No, but he lost to Stony Brook in a SR instead.

We shut down their offense. It would've been tough to score on Heimlich but he wasn't the only reason they had like the best record ever in 2017.

As the other poster side, if we go to a game 3 I think we win it all.

As disappointing as this season has been, it would be absurd at this point to fire a coach that has won as consistently as Paul has throughout the years. It would be crazy to fire a coach that has brought us to a top-eight national seed, and ultimately to Omaha, as many times as he has.

He has done enough to deserve a chance to right the ship. I feel like a staff overhaul would be more warranted.

There are very few coaches in America with resumes that match Paul's, and most programs would kill to have him as their coach.

That's funny. I can't find his name anywhere on this list.
