That was a truly unique atmosphere. Because of 9/11, it was a December night game in Tiger Stadium for the SEC West Championship. And to my knowledge, the only time ever that a penalty flag was thrown about 10 minutes or so before the game even started. And then starting off the game with an onsides kick and recovering it was just the best.

I was at the game, but taped it and ESPN had an overhead cam that showed the band going down the hill in the dark and playing pregame with people jammed in there everywhere going nuts. It is the best capturing that I've ever seen of that tradition.

Auburn kindve slides under the radar sometimes compared to Ole Miss, Alabama, and now this recent business with Florida but we have had some great games. I always remember how much I hate those frickers.

nobody has mentioned it yet, but unless I'm confusing the games, didn't Michael Clayton also absolutely level the kickoff returner after that first score? I remember the collective "BOOOOOOM" like it was yesterday... Crowd couldn't have gotten any crazier after that...
