takes a back seat to recruiting rankings when rewarding teams in college football. It’s the only sport that is like this.

If ANY other team had Alabama’s resume, they would be a playoff afterthought at this point. But because they stockpile talent and pass the “eye test”, what they actually accomplish during a season becomes less important compared to any other team. It’s a huge black eye on college football to be honest.

Recruiting rankings play no role in whether a team makes the playoffs. Eye test does not equal recruiting rankings.

Do you think bama is one of the best 4 teams in football?

If Minnesota gets to the championship game against Ohio st and loses a close one they should be the one to get a rematch and not Bama. Way better schedule

You prove my point. “Best” is subjective. Resume is not.

This is one of the dumbest/most ridiculous statements I've seen in the Rant today. Just no.

Way better schedule? They will have Penn St and Wisconsin? Bama will have Auburn and LSU.

Yeah and the OOC schedule for Bama is better than Minnesota.

Saying Minnesota has a way better schedule is clueless, at best.

Exactly!!

It’s like people want Bama considered for the playoffs because they THINK so.

Such BS. I would love to see LSU play them again but Bama has not even beaten many ranked teams. Or any??

While you may be right as far as the committee is concerned, go read some of the dumbass takes on the MSB. Some of those arse clowns think recruiting plays a role in who gets in.

This bullshite shouldn't play a role either. What "eye test" does Bama meet--beating a bunch of average to below average teams and losing to the only Top 10 team they will play all year?

Because unless Auburn beats Georgia, Alabama will be lucky if they have a win over a Top 20 team when it's all said and done.

No where did I say that it should.

You and I both know that it does though.

My point was that recruiting rankings play no role in the playoff committee decisions.

Agreed but I don't think anyone gets in over a 1-loss Big12 or Pac12 champion. The big debate will be between Oregon/Utah and Oklahoma/Baylor.

Clemson will be there along with LSU/Georgia winner and the Ohio St/Minn winner.

It’s about time that Bama having soft schedules backfires on them

You guys are getting carried away with this.

Alabama is an afterthought. Right now they're out of the playoffs. You guys won't stop talking about them possibly getting into the playoffs. You're actually helping their cause by continuing to talk about them nonstop.

This is why I’ve argued for a long time the standard should be most deserving not “best” teams.

A 12-1 Minnesota with wins against Penn State, Iowa, and Wisconsin has a much better resume than an 11-1 Alabama.

Alabama gets a legacy pass. That's why they are viewed differently

But have they proven it? Name a Top 25 win. You can't bc there isn't one. So LSU can schedule crap teams and make a playoff with a loss to Bama? You may be good, but "you are what your record says you are" (Parcels) and their's says no Top 25 wins.
