It was mostly a case of bad preparation.

Not knowing who the ball carrier is, missed assignments, visible confusion, all point to lack of preparation. You can’t just line up 11 guys and expect to stop teams anymore.

It’ll get better. I think they’ll fix it.

I feel like these are the same excuses we used to always give the offense over the past 10 years

Also complacency. What do the Texas, Alabama, and Ole Miss games have in common?

IMO, the defensive players are NOT doing their job and failing to execute. These players have zero situational awareness. If you’re a DE or OLB , know your responsibility and contain. If it’s 3rd and 5 with no backs in the backfield, watch for the QB delayed draw. If you observe a WR running in motion, know there could be a reverse, or fake reverse. Just blitzing at 100mph ends up taking yourself out of the play

Ok I’ll buy that. But answer me this...

You KNEW going in that Rich Rod is a spread option guy.
You KNEW going in that they were going to run the quarterback.

And the amount of times they ran free with nobody home to contain or even account for the QB...how do you not address that in game prep? Or make the adjustment for it mid game?

I disagree

Our problems are primarily second half. Offensive coordinators are adjusting and Aranda isn't catching up.

Second half issue for sure. Look at the first half scores the last two weeks. We need to make adjustments to the adjustments. That is all

Aranda is holding back for the championship game.

That's one we used to say about the offense.

I think the reason is they couldn’t key on who had the ball. Especially on the counter we bit on wrong ball carrier and also the direction. It didn’t get fixed mid game because the players still didn’t clue in on it. This is stuff you watch on film and then just know. All lack of preparation.

How about we call it a letdown after one of the biggest wins in LSU history?

That's the DC's job, yes? For which he gets paid 2.5 million annually.

I’m not melting. Just pointing out that it’s fixable. Definitely a one game thing because it hasn’t happened all year long.

Lets hope so, we have been saying this since the Texas game.

It’s mostly on the coaches, sure. But you have to account for both fatigue and coming off a big game.

When i say they’ll fix it, i mean the Florida and Auburn type performances. This is not going to be the 85 bears this year. We’re not that good.
