I do, but all that matters is who woodward prefers.

my god some are over-the-top about it. I don’t think there’s a CBB coach in history with such a short resume that has gotten this much fan love.

He’s probably gonna be a great coach. But his HC resume is a very real thing, and at this point in his career it’s really, really short.

Like I said, I would love for LSU to hire Vitello. I’m just saying I totally understand if we don’t.

this.

Vitello is a few names down on Woodward's list. Several more experienced names would have to say no before they get to Vitello. (and who says no to LSU?)

I would be surprised if Scott Woodward even has Vitello anywhere on his list.

How come?

You can only get players to run through a brick wall for you for a short time, eventually have to coach and know baseball.
He would be fine with me, if he gets to Omaha.

The Vols under Dave Serrano were abysmal.

there are some more proven coaches that have won titles and win year in and year out that better have said no to us first.

Lol nobody is saying no to this job. We’ll get our first choice assuming Woody can push it across the finish line, and he has a track record of doing just that

I kind of think that LSU fans are suffering from Bo Pelini syndrome. An older more accomplished coach fails at LSU therefore all older accomplished coaches are bad hires.

Skip’s HC resume was nonexistent when LSU took a chance on him. I see nothing wrong with giving a young, hungry, and relatively unproven guy a chance if they show potential like Vitello

A proven record of success usually means “his best days are past”. There have been some really great coaches who sucked for the last 5 or 10 years of their careers -

Bobby Bowden
Paul Mainieri
Steve Spurrier
Ron Polk

Just to name a few.

Vitello and Godwin make the most sense for LSU. As far as fits go, I think those are the 2 best. Sullivan is a safe pick and TCU's coach is pretty solid but I'm not sure about that one.

Vitello #1

Godwin #2

I’m guessing that McDonnell is off the list. I read his feet is firmly planted in Louisville
