unlike last year where he staggered into the NCAA tourney and went one and done against a bad NCSTATE team with Martin and Mickey?

There is absolutely no benefit in firing Johnny Jones midseason. Let this season play out and test the waters as to who you might be able to get before firing him.

I support Coach Jones, and don't care if you laugh.

I want him, like every other LSU coach, to be successful every year, and then retire on his or her own terms. To me that is what is best for LSU.

That means you don't immediately fire the coach if they lose a game, or even have a season that is not as good as we all would like.

There are great coaches who have had down seasons. Merely because they had a down season doesn't mean they are not a great coach.

Keep your head up, Coach Jones, and continue to do your best.

We fired Brady with 8 games to go with probably the SEC player of the year not playing a game and 18 months out the Final Four. Chris Johnson and Tasmin Mitchell did not play most of the year. It was a national black eye in the Basketball circles. So why not fire JJ now. He has the best player in college basketball and as much talent as anyone in the country. It's like Deju vu when we had shag, chris and Stanley on the same team.
We have at LSU between Fournette, Simmons and Lang not to mention Bregman last year and nothing to show for it. We should want more.

This is why I was pushing for Tom Crean a while back. Damaged goods are often quite salvageable.

I never wanted him hired. He did not show me anything as an assistant coach, and winning at North Texas State is nothing that great.

The two above quoted reasons are another reason I didn't want him hired. Dale is retired and needs to stay that way. He had a good run and then crashed the program. Collis Temple - I really don't know why these dumbasses are listening to him. Yeah, I am aware of his role with AAU, but he is long gone from LSU. He needs to face that fact, and the LSU folks also need to face that fact. Time to more on.

If so please list your reasoning so we can laugh at you

I'd put it this way, I'm not writing angry e-mails to fire Johnny but were it to happen I would not be writing angry e-mails in protest.

But it ain't happening this year so the point is moot.

If not this year then when? A pre season too 25 team to not making tourney, that's pretty bad. You lose Simmons and Hornsby next year And bring in an average recruiting class with program players.

Well you want facts? How about we were in last place in the SEC and now we are in 2nd. place? How about we were having to start walk ons and now we have good players at every position. He has a better winning percentage so far than John Brady. He took us to the NCAA tournamnet in his third year which is better than ANY other LSU coach.

Is he a perfect, great coach? NO, but he is a good coach for LSU. Replace him and you will see the team take an immediate nose dive as we probably get another Trent who had a great resume that was undeserved.

What the hell does a good coach for LSU mean? Because he went to school here? Because he was an assistant here? If he wasn't an alumni he wouldn't have a job here now. There's a reason why he spent like 11 yrs at north Texas, nobody else wanted him.
91-88 in the sunbelt, it's not like he was Shaka Smart and winning the league and making the tourney every year. Hell in 10 years he only won the conference once and the conference tourney twice. This wasn't the acc or big east, it was the sunbelt& it was in a basketball hotbed of recruiting in Dallas.
This is the problem, he's not qualified to be the coach here. If you want a top 25 program, you need a top 25 coach.

I think I posted my reasons why he is a good coach for LSU, none of which you responded to. Instead of addressing his record here at LSU you spent all your time on his previous job which doesn't mean a thing. His record here is as good as any other basketball coach we have ever had in his first four years. Oh and how do you identify a top 25 coach? And if you identify them how do you get one of them to come to LSU which is always going to be first and foremost a football school.

Consider all the "name" coaches at other schools in the SEC. Consider that CJJ is ahead of all of them but Calipari over the last two years in terms of SEC wins.

You have to admit thought that missing the tourney with this squad would be a MASSIVE underachievement. In that case, he might get next year (don't know why) but I would have to think his seat is scorching at that point.
