Is there any reason in keeping Johnny Jones for another year?

I don't understand logic of WHEN we do bad next year, Johnny Jones will be gone. Why not get rid of him now?? If this team couldn't make the NCAA Tournament, then I have little faith that Johnny Jones will ever be anything more than a good recruiter who might make the tournament once ever 4-5 years. And, for what he's paid and the team's I've seen, that is probably what we can expect.

There was enough talent on this team to make the tournament. There is no way to argue against that. If this team is coached by a good coach, it's ranked in the top-20 easily.

LSU shouldn't procrastinate this any longer. Just part ways now. And, go spend some money on a coach that is going to make this program matter. The fans want to get behind basketball, but it's hard when you can't even win with one of the best players in the country and a pretty damn good supporting cast.

Why can't LSU spend more money on a coach?? Other schools with far less revenue generation than LSU have coaches paid more than Johnny Jones. I know we are in the SEC, but if we spend some money can we not land a really good coach?

Yeah we have to keep him because TAF doesn't turn a profit and give money to academics...oh wait

At this point it's pretty obvious the Jones hire is a train wreck. And those that lobbied for his cause should admit they were wrong.

This currently isnt a rational decision. It is a political decision.
All LSU coaches get passes until price of oil goes past $75 a barrel.

Yes because obviously LSU is not serious about the basketball program.

Why aren't they serious about it? There's good talent in Louisiana and plenty in Texas. If we got a good recruiter who could ALSO coach well, we could be a lot more relevant come March...

He needs to go. Hate to see an LSU guy like this, but if he can't make the NCAAs with this team, he won't do much more. He has peaked at 17-19 wins a season.

He has to be fired...no other option makes sense. Most underachieving team in LSU sports history IMHO. This is based on last years tourney performance and now this. Unacceptable

I think he'll be fired if we make some calls and have a big name lined up. if not we extend the search and let him get fired after another NIT appearance next season (if that)

Lol this team ain't making the nit this year.......he's going to barely make it this year with the #1 draft pick. He's squandered more talent in the times he's been here than most coaches see in a lifetime.

If I'm F King Alex, I'm looking for CJJ to make it to the championship game of the SECT. Anything less, he gone.

The only thing that I could argue in Jones' favor is that he hasn't had a losing SEC record in four seasons. Of course, the SEC is not on par with the ACC or the Big 12 conferences.

I can't imagine this team will be better next season after losing Hornsby, Quarterman, and Simmons.

I think you let Jones' have another season. And meanwhile, start the coaching search tomorrow for his replacement.

If the powers that be feel that jones isn't going to bring LSU to a championship level, then they should make the change. We should dedicate more resources to the second highest revenue sport on campus.

No, this was the season. It was get it done this year or he was gone. That was the consensus in 2015 from fans.

He should be terminated.
