Same play I saw.

You need glasses if you can't see that hit the ground.

Y'all jeep posting this image as if it shows the ball clearly on the ground.

It's not clear at all.

I see an elbow guard, a sliver of grass, then what I believe to be the ball on the ground, but the shadow makes it difficult to see it for sure.

Anyone that says it was clearly on the ground or clearly off the ground based on this image is lying.

You never see the ball contact turf. You can assume it did...but you cannot see it.

I do.

You, apparently don't.

You need glasses.

Thick ones.

This is truly hilarious.

Explains a lot of the utter nonsense we see littering the scoreboard on gameday, but hilarious nonetheless.

I've seen it on YouTube probably two dozen times. I think it hits the ground, and I know it's incomplete because of the out of bounds ordeal, but there is nothing clear about it.

The way the ball is falling off his chest, hits his elbow, and then seems to stop moving for a blip makes me think it hit the ground, but I don't SEE the ball on the ground. None of you do. You simply can't because of the light and their bodies.

Right, a sliver of belly fat reaches out to support the ball.

It's pretty straight forward - the replay makes it fairly clear the ball hit the ground with the way it reacted, but we never see the ball on the ground due to the way it was positioned with respect to the players.

Yes, we do. By your logic, since it's impossible to see a 4D view of an object, it's necessarily impossible to "see" an object hitting another. You simply don't know what's happening on the other side because your eyes can't actually see there.

Then again, anyone who can get past the fact that the rules of physics didn't bend for this play, and that the football didn't change its size or shape, and that the field was nothing other than flat underneath the football.... actually did see the ball hit the ground.

Like I said earlier, why some of you are acting so intentionally obtuse about this is perplexing.

I've got no problem calling out someone who says it was clearly a catch - that's obviously wrong. I've got no problem agreeing the ball likely hit the ground either. It's simply incorrect to say you can see the ball on the ground though. You can't.

Look at the replay view from the sideline and you can see the nose of the ball on his hip. In this view you can see the nose in his elbow. You don’t know the timing of that compared to the other view. There is absolutely no clear view of it hitting the ground. Period.

Apparently I need some of your bionic eyes that can decipher black shadow pixels and break them up into ball and ground.

No just a properly functioning brain to watch the clip and understand that there is nothing keeping the ball suspended above the ground. It sat there for a split second, objects don't just float in the air for a split second. It was resting on the ground.

Moreover, there is an angle where you can see the ball actually bounce, however slightly.

It hit the ground. Period.

Now if you really want to dig into the nitty gritty. It could have been a push off and Stingley did an excellent job of catching back up and making a play on the ball.

The reverse angle in my opinion showed his hand underneath the ball.
THIS!! The two angles taken together show INT.
