LSU notoriously starts slow under BK. Realizing that as a weakness and compensating for it is my entire point.

If LSU is playing outside the US, the other school will be a team from a power conference. It won't be a rent a win like La Tech or someone like that.

You think Ireland would want fans from one state to go overseas? Lol. No. Thet would want fans from multiple states.

Even if it was a game against GA Tech or someone like Washington State, it would still be a better get right game in the first game of the year than Clemson with Klubnik back at QB.

I’m not aware of a rule but according to Ott and Hanny Verge Ausbury who is charge of scheduling refuses to consider it because “we’re LSU” or something like that

Well that’s disconcerting. Because “we’re LSU” has turned into “we lose every season opener we play without Joe Burrow.”

Nuss better take a Burrow-like leap from year 1 to year 2 starting if we are going to win that game, and that’s asking a lot of him

People are messing with you, but Sam Houston is there for the taking. They play at Hawaii on 9/6.

The issue is all of the moving parts. You’d have to buy out Southeastern or Tech or Western Kentucky, and then help whichever one with their schedule adjustments, as well.

As an aside, if our coaches and admin feel as though we have a legit chance at a playoff run, we should seriously consider it.

Thank you for this info. I’d buy out Southeastern since it’s the week before going to Ole Miss. Set up a bye for that week

Very.

There’s no reason to play Grambling or Nicholls in week 3, every one hates this games. Play it week zero when at least we are excited about Football being back

This has been answered far too many times. It’s far too late at this point now to change the schedule for next season. That being said, Verge needs to be fired into the fricking sun for scheduling us in an away game against a potential top 15 team that has nearly all of their starters returning for the very first game.

We lost 3/4 of our games in the month of late October/november

The early thing doesn’t matter

Don’t know if it’s so much BK as it’s portal additions. I think the teams that have many portal starters need time to play together. Unlike incoming high school players most portal transfers will be starting and need a game or so to become acclimated to their new team.

Completely different era of college football and we had a completely different set of coaches and players. If you honestly think this team is going blow Clemson out, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment.

or we could have our $10 million head coach actually have his team prepared. You know, like Clemson has to do, since they don't have a Week 0 game either.

The key difference in the portal/NIL era is your team will have so many new players on it that need time to gel/get used to playing with each other/play with new coaches and scheme

And you can’t use game tape from season before to prep (i/e think about how Clemson has to prepare for our new defense, no real game tape on it…)

week 1 can just be a crapshoot because it’s an entire new group of dudes playing with each other, so it would be better to do it against bad teams and schedule harder OOC games week 2 or later (like Texas 2019)

And your SOS mattered a lot more when fighting for 2 BCS spots or 4 playoff spots…now, it’s just survive your conference and make it in. It’s not important to have quality wins, it’s just important to win

Can only schedule week zero games if you meet certain stipulations, like playing Hawaii I know can get you a week zero game scheduled

While I don’t necessarily disagree, this isn’t a talking point for LSU fans if LSU actually decided to win one of these games over the past 5 years

2019 we played Ga Southern week 1 then Texas. There is no need to play some big name opponent away from home

every

single

year

Why, yes there is. Why do you ask this question that’s been asked a hundred times before?

You pay a current rent a win already on the schedule to move the game to week zero.
12 games
Warm up game
Voila!
Looks chicken shite, but who gives a damn anymore?
A gaudy wons-loss total is all that is required. Not who, how, when , just how many.
