It really is. It sucks LSU spent all those years playing in Little Rock because Fayetteville is much nicer.

Is the trip to Fayetteville worth it?
I have been to a good number of away games and I have never been to one that I think wasn't worth it...I liked every one and will continue to go to away games every chance that I get.

FayetteNam is nice, clean city, good food and bars. If it wasn't occupied with a-hole pig fans it would be great.
Don't be surprised at the poor tailgating, the stadium is in a bad location concerning areas around to,tailgate. Not to worry, most pig fans won't invite LSU fans to their tailgates. They don't like us...
Eats: high end: Herman's, Bordino's, Grillhouse, local fare: Hugo's, Damgoode Pies, Grub's, JJ's. Microbreweries: Apple Blossom brewery, Hoghaus Brewery, Fossil Cove Brewery, Sports bar: Foghorn's, Grub's,
Nightlife: Dickson Street
Enjoy yourselves, I've lived up here for 28 years and the fans are tiring but it's worth a visit.

Fayetteville is awesome. Dickson street is a lot of fun. Highly recommend it.

I'm leaving at about 6:30 am. I'm driving though. I've heard it's a great drive

The scenery and the drive is great. The campus is nice. Get a parking pass or be prepared to be parking in some random yard, because they don't have as much parking space available in the middle of the mountains. The tailgating sucks. Stick to the bars and in town for pre game. Most of the fans I encountered were okay I guess. Kind of stuck up and thought they were high and mighty when really, they were pretty terrible. But they weren't rude or anything. Just no fun to interact with. This was the game where they beat us to stop their forever long SEC losing streak a couple years ago.

Beautiful place and better scenery than anywhere in Louisiana. I think it is a great town with good vibes all around. The game I went to there about 5 years or so ago (amazing Jarvis Landry end zone catch game) was the coldest I have ever been at a football game. It was fricking miserable that day

Meh, it's aight. I've been to 13 of the 14 SEC venues and I'd rank it in the bottom tier for sure.
But anytime you can get away and hang out with friends (or family as it will be in my case this year) and hang with other Tiger fans, to me that's always a good time and worth the trip.

I would recommend parking across from Baum Stadium (baseball stadium) for free and taking the shuttle over to the football stadium

The campus, and that specific part of Arkansas, is beautiful. The problem is, it is surrounded by, well.....Arkansas. The rest of the state is poor, backwards, and has very few redeeming qualities.
Additionally, getting there can be frustrating. Coming from the east or west (assuming you can use I-40) is not bad. Getting there from any other direction (in particular coming from the south) is painful.

When this game was usually the Friday after thanksgiving, me and my boys would load up as soon as everyone was finished with thanksgiving dinner and head out and stay through Sunday. Couple years we stayed in hotels but our best trips were two that we camped at Petit Jean and Devils Den State Parks. Unbelievable scenery and away from the piggie fans for the largest part of the trip. Was always cold as a witches tit in a brass bra up there. Also, cops were really targeting Tiger fans for alcohol in the stadium. Saw several Tiger fans escorted out. Don't know if they were just removed from the stadium or they were issued citations/arrested. And, as mentioned, tailgating/parking sucked. We did a huge pot of gumbo which went over well with the cold weather. All in all, beautiful area and not a bad trip.

It's beautiful up there. Really enjoyed the experience in 2012. We're going back tomorrow. We stay in Ft Smith. It's one of the more laid back away game trips we enjoy. Less booze and rabble and more fresh air and football.
Looking forward to putting smack down on Bulimia and his piggies.

Went last time and was miserable watching Jennings play QB. They don't check you at the gate so I suggest taking some whiskey to get you through the game.
Also, I suggest checking out Dickson street if you've never been. If you know how to have a good time it'll be a fun trip.
