Is Skip the most legendary Tiger?

Though he was never an athlete here, I feel that the impact he made on the baseball program, athletic director, and University in general are to none. Though he's not the most well-known nationally, I feel that he is certainly the most notable Tiger. What are you guys' thoughts?

He's had more of an impact on LSU athletics than anyone, hands down. I'll add that he has the utmost respect from his former players who taught them more about life than baseball. That is saying something.

Objectively speaking, even Saban would be higher than him just because it's football, and the importance of College Football to the university. The resurgence of football is what turned us into a true sports school and what Skip did is in a pretty niche sport for college which has fortunately gained a lot more popularity.
For me though, Skip is #1. I just love that he's given us an entire sport to look forward to during a slow time of year and baseball is my personal favorite LSU Sport.

Apart of 6 national championships, 5 with the tigers, 1 Olympic gold medal and 1 Olympic bronze medal and even all that. I feel his biggest accomplishment is the impact he made on the college game.

Locally I'd say yes. He's probably not the first person who comes to mind nationally just bc he didn't coach football. But everyone in Louisiana probably holds him in higher regard than anyone else. In 88 years has anyone ever had anything negative to say about Skip? I never heard one, everyone loved and respected him

He’s definitely one of the conquerors that built the kingdom, there would be no modern LSU athletics without his baseball/administrative success.

Yes. Only others close would be Saban (he did to football what skip did to baseball…not as well/long, but in a bigger sport) & Burrow (his legend is confined to just 1 season, the most legendary season in CFB history, but still just 1 season)

From an accomplishment standpoint, yes. If I had to choose an LSU figure that is the most transformational or cannot be reproduced, it's Maravich. No other player had or has the skill that the Pistol did. There will never be anyone to replicate him.

Legendary is an adjective that means very famous and admired, or connected to a story passed down from long ago. It describes people, places, or events that are so great or special that people talk about them like a myth or a hero tale.
