They had significant injuries to key players that attributes to their losses?

I thought it was Bama who has the officials paid off according to you nimrods.

Speaking in a derogatory manner to people who witnessed a series of events you evidently did not witness based on your comments would seem to lend you to being the nimrod, not them/us.

Yes on offense,
Star receiver Ahmmon Richards and star tight end Chris Herndon played a little bit in the pitt game but were hurt and both missed the last 2 games of the season and that’s on top of rb mark Walton. Top 3 offensive weapons on last years team didn’t play the last 2 and a half games. Vs Wisconsin it was 27-21 with 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Have to think if we had Herndon and Richards healthy for that game we would have won.

Miami brings back 8 of the top 10 players in sacks and TFL on their team, that same team was #1 in sacks and #4 in TFL per game last year. That unit was tied for 14th last year in ints per game.

If one of their DBs wasn't concussed during the bowl game and had to quit football, they would have brought back their entire starting secondary.

Overall the defense wasn't great (more around above average), but they made big plays.

Offensively they bring back every pass catchers but their top 2, and their top 2 weren't drastically better than the others. Although he had a sophomore slump, Ahmmon Richards is one of the best WRs in the country. They bring back Travis Homer, who is a beast at RB, and bring in what I think was the best RB in the 2018 class, true freshman 5 star Lorenzo Lingard. Rosier fell hard last year after the first 10 games. In his first 10 games he was great passing for 2600 yards 23 TDs and rushing for another 350 yards and 5 TDs. I didn't keep up with them closely, but for some reason other than just the teams they played, they fell flat and he was the worst. I will tell you one thing, he started to become a turnover machine when he faced the last six opponents, who had much better defenses. Against 3 of his four ranked opponents in those 6 games, he threw 3 TDs to 8 ints.

Even though they lost some defense line (same as we did), I expect them to be better defensively down the road, than they were last year. If Rosier can improve by cutting down on the ints, they are mostly definitely a top 10 team. I'd put them more like around 12-13 right, which would still make them a top 15 team. I'm just glad we're playing them week one instead of week five or six.

Good and fair breakdown overall. Yes it is sad what happened to malek young in the bowl game. Ahmmon Richards was hurt last year with multiple injuries and only played in 7 games but had 439 yards on 24 receptions after having 49 catches 949 yards as a freshman. Word is in camp is he’s taken his game to the next level. They are saying malik rosier has improved as well but obviously we won’t really know until the season starts, I sure hope so

Regardless of stats last year, THEY did win 10 games with a young team.... they will be a year better, return several players namely 8 on defense and 7 on offense and could be number 1 or 2 by mid season....stop looking for reasons why we gonna win, bottom line is they will be very good this year.... it will be hard for lsu to win

Dude two of three TDs came off Wisconsin mistakes. First TD came off a rare UW fumble. Last TD was blown coverage. Miami only sustained one TD drive the entire game.

NOT TO MENTION Alex Hornibrook -- yes, Alex Hornibrook, threw 4 TDs and completed more than 65% of his passes against Miami. Let that sink in. Alex Hornibrook carved you up.

Probably not, but why are you complaining? LSU is getting no respect right now. If they beat a top 10 Miami team out the gate then maybe LSU will stop being the butt of so many media jokes.

it doesn't matter where they are rated... So many on here think LSU will crush Miami... I will never understand why... Miami is A SOLID team coming in... LSU has A TON of question marks.... I hope LSU finds a way to pull out A victory but i'm just not really confident it will happen............

How good were they really defensively? Not so much when playing good teams. You don't take any of that into consideration. Outside of two games, they had an average to below average offense that got exposed the last 3 games of the year.

You gave up an average 32 points per game your last 3 games. Yet, you are talking about offensive player injuries. I would hope you had several defensive players out.

Also you are making excuses about losing a wr, te, and RB. Lsu's star rb was injured most of the year, and I would hope a wr or te isn't going to make or break you. Get back to me when you lose several key linemen on each side of the ball.

Lsu is gonna send a message.

Miami is a solid team with good coaching a lot of marketability that is on the way up and an absolute dogshit schedule.

It isn't hard to see why they put them at the top of that 8-13 cluster of teams.

That said, they don't have anywhere near the depth that we do after years of down recruiting (depth cost us MSU and Troy right??).

They are a defense that thrives off of turnovers and an offense that depends on those to set up short fields for scoring opportunities. Their QB also struggles against better defenses and has turnover issues of his own.

If we protect the football, this should be a win for the good guys and both teams will settle back in the 13-18 range where they actually belong.

Miami has a soft schedule and I still don't think they will finish in the top 10.

Rosier is innaccurrate. Much like Harris, Jennings, Jefferson. Yet every year, we "heard" they were improving. Yet, they never did. Accuracy is tough to improve on because in the heat of the battle, you fall back on bad mechanics/reads
