Very good points. Not arguing but clarifying my statement and saying what we all know - that college baseball recruiting is fickle in that your class can be gutted at the last minute. Will be interesting how the earlier deadline rule change this year might change that. Every team can play the "what if" game but if CPM had been able to keep just 1-2 players from pro ball the last 2 years we wouldn't be debating if he should be on the hot seat. This year's class is projecting to stick a little better although we'd all love to see ~4-5 more legit hitters coming in.

Good points and without question, this team would've been better off if some of those kids had stuck to their word and came to campus. Regardless, in retrospect, I think most people would've liked a solid contingency plan, but it is what it is.

You've stated that the SEC championship baseball team was not a very good team; you pretty much lost all credibility with that point of view, aka your opinion. You opened the can of worms by being overtly obtuse; deal with it.

Again, you selectively quote and manipulate my words to try to make me seem unreasonable and, yet, I'm the obtuse one. If you go re-read my quote, you'll see that my comment was made regarding the talent level of this year's team compared to previous LSU teams; thus, why I said it was not a very good "LSU team." Compare the talent level to the 2009 team that last won an SEC Championship and get back to me on that. If you can't do that simple task and read sentences as they are written (such as using a conjunction to continue one's thought or statement, like I did in this sentence), then I wouldn't be so quick to call another person obtuse.

Until then, don't try to tell me what my own opinion is.

Just ask yourself how many times south carolina, FSU, and florida have been to the CWS in the last 3 years and how many times LSU has been and that should give you your answer. 8 freaking teams make it to the CWS every year. NOT 1 NOT 2 NOT 3 NOT 4 NOT 5 NOT 6 NOT 7 BUT 8!! The thought that we are an elite team is in everyone's mind. The fact that we can't make it too the CWS when there's other teams going every year is embarrassing.

I didn't read any of your 226 post. But to think that you posters want to consider that this coach is on a hot seat after winning an SEC Championship is unbelievable. Some of you need to get a life.

You just wait smart guy!! If you see a situation were we are going to be a better team next year then let me know. I hope im wrong but it will be 4 straight years and no CWS appearance.

P.S.
This is baseball and don't noboby give a shite bout the SEC championship. Its not like football and basketball. Without looking it up can you tell me who won the sec championship 3 year ago. prolly not

If our players all of a sudden get extremly faster, learn how too bunt, learn how to execute a hit and run, learn how to run bases, learn how to hit with two strikes in the count and last but not least learn how to hit an off speed pitch then i would say we could be better next year. Pitching will be better though even with the loss of kevin and nick. It won't do much good when you score 1 run in a game though.

Mental errors.

...happen when repetitive execution has not sufficiently prepared the player for a given scenario.

At the dish, on the bag or in the field... we did not look like a prepared baseball team consistently.

Who's that on ?

So you think our pitching will be better but our hitting won't, even with Katz, Rhymes, Ross, and Bregman in the lineup?

wow, I thought this thread would die after a few posts, seeing as to how stupid the premise is. But it just keeps going, and many people actually believe PM is in the hot seat after getting the team to the Super Regionals!!

huh? no way. Need to get his pitching shite straightened out and find a hitting coach eventhough they aren't important. I give him next year, then he is gone if Javy isn't let go.

The administration needs to know that Javi is a severe problem with the team. Not many fans are to that point yet of questioning Javi or PM.

This is actually a pretty easy answer without looking it up.

Hey idiot, I'm 61 and actually graduated from LSU. When I was at LSU, you were lucky to see over 100 people at a game. If any SEC program would be called elite, it would be Mississippi State. Their level of play, back then, awakened the rest of the SEC. State started the SEC giving a crap about baseball, just like, South Carolina, started the interest in womens softball. PM isn't on the hot seat. If you are a working person, let's post your arse on the internet, to call for your job. I bet that you're not perfect at your job either.

If they can't figure this out on their own our problems are probably a lot worse than peope think.

As far as the putrid baserunning, I understand PM wants to be aggressive, but there is a huge difference between aggressive and reckless (which we appear to be).

yes....I actually would take jacoby before all 4 of them (well maybe not before ross). I think he will have a good year and he actually started hitting offspeed pitches at the end of the year.
