He keeps calling Texas Notre Dame. Called Chad Jones Chad Johnson. Said Leon Landry played football at LSU.

He said clay Moffitt plays football, except that clays brother is the one that plays football.

Continues to call base hits safeties even though that's never been a thing ever until he started it this weekend.

No. He's just not any good. He's never been good. His best attribute is that he's friends with Jim Hawthorne, which is how he wormed his way into broadcasting LSU sports.

Uhh, no. It's an old term for a base hit. Short for "hit safely."

I was driving during the latter part of the game and I thought I heard safety mentioned more than once but I had 2 teenaged girls in the truck so I chalked it up to not hearing it correctly.

I've followed baseball pretty damn closely for 30 years and never heard this term

Only safety I know in baseball is a safety squeeze

Best line was yesterday when they showed a shot of the Capitol with the lights on : "Keep your hands on your wallets, looks like the Legislature is working late".

Not safety, safely. As in Duplantis has hit safely in 4 straight games. It’s very common in baseball. You hear it almost every game. Either hit safely or reached base safely.
