re: Is LSU’s new offense worthy of all the hype

The offense will be better this year. I’m pretty convinced of that. I think we will see what we have been asking for for years, a bunch of quick pass outside and inside. Whether or not it works and we execute remains to be seen but I do think we will see more of it.
The biggest question to me is what will we see once we get inside the red zone.

Yes it sure is. Every year Ree
Well I for one am not going to fall for it. O can fool all of you pumpers but not me not this year. O has been pulling this shite since the 80s.

Certainly it is. The habitual aversion to risk stick in the mud head coach is gone. Orgeron brought in some young blood to help change this up and seems to be staying out of the way. What’s not too like?

the defense will be better this year. Phillips can be as good as Devin White. Chaisson returns. Delpit is the best safety in the nation. Fulton/Stingley are a dynamic corner duo. DL is a veteran group primed to go
Lester. You said that LSU would lack depth at safety. I counted 6 and that didn't include any of the guys coming in. I know that Marcel can step in and play right away. Hampton can too. I wouldn't be surprised if Jay Ward couldn't move from CB to safety.

Delpit and Harris played a lot of ball last year. Stevens as well, though he isnt a traditional safety. Monroe barely played at all, Jones is a converted WR, and Cameron Lewis hasnt even lettered yet through 2 seasons.

You know the new coach has had 2 offensive coordinators in his two years on the job. You sir are a quitter.
2 offensive coordinators in his two years on the job.
Sounds to me like he's fricked up a time or two.

Not at all surprised for you to say this.
Keep you fingers crossed and don't quit praying. It can happen for a third year and then you can be very happy.
Whatever you do, don't quit pulling against LSU and the head coach. The #6 finish last year was bullshite.
You were so close to your dream. The people who do the polls have no idea what they are doing. Maybe they get it right this year and you can once again rejoice.

What would you call it ree? I suppose in your eyes, o hiring 2 different offensive coordinators in his first 2 full seasons as head coach was done on purpose.
All part of the plan, right ree?

What did you think about the game, Ben? I saw you mention something about the Jefferson catch. I didn't watch the game till this morning so I didn't read the thread from yesterday.

the OL can just hold up for 5 seconds and our QBs can hit the open man, I don't see how this offense will bog down, especially when they spread it out
If LSU has a OL who can hold blocks 5 seconds then it’s the greatest CFB OL ever

I'm trying not to get too excited. The offense looked good. Chris Curry looked good, too bad he couldn't have been that guy last season but glad he's ready now. The wide receivers were impressive. Charles will be ok at left tackle. Not so sure about Deculus. Burrow looked good. Brennan looked good although I think that he maybe tried too hard at times to make something happen. I hope that they utilize the tight ends. Mcmath especially could be a mismatch.
The defense is going to be nasty. If anything better than last season. Ika and Shelvin looked good which should free Fehoko up to play his natural position. Did I mention that the defense is going to be nasty?
I'm concerned about special teams. Is the kicker on campus? Scoring touchdowns in the redzone may be a necessity.

Nope. No York here yet to kick FGs. I thought we shanked too many punts, but I'm not to worried about it for the fall.
I was really encouraged by what they were at least showing that they're attempting to do on offense. The checkdowns and underneath stuff was a breath of fresh air. Also I loved that we were running the ball up the middle from the same formations.
I hope we run plays like that shallow cross to Anderson for 40 yards. I jumped off my couch and yelled "finally!" when he caught that pass.
Obviously Ika and Stingley were simply amazing. I was actually more impressed with the play Stingley made by not giving Marshall in room to make a play down by the endzone than I was the interception. He had great coverage on the pick, but that was just a really bad throw IMO.

And replaced with the guy who only cares about not getting blown out, yet still does. Kicking a FG for the sole purpose of trying not to get shut out

The hype is coming from the coaches. What do you expect them to say?

Statistically that won't be hard. Even last season's numbers were good enough for 4th in passing yardage. That's kind of an indictment on our lack of elite QB play in the modern era.
Passing yards isnt all i was talking about. Considering the increase in game i was talking about qb rating, rushing yards, completion %, td/int ratio.
