Is LSU’s new offense worthy of all the hype
LSU’s passing offense certainly appears worthy of some of the hype, if you’re to believe BR’s sports reporters. You know what else is exciting? With the LSU offense spreading defenses, it won’t just be the passing that opens up. LSU has a pair of Hershel Walkerish backs who will bull over DB’s in open spaces.

They are going to have to prove it to me on the field. I’m not falling for this schtick 12 years in a row.

I believe it will be more exotic and more difficult to defend than what we’ve seen here in the last 10+ years.

Will that translate to player execution and improved results? TBD.

I’ll say this...after last year’s spring game I was worried it was going to be a long season because the QBs and offense looked awful. Yesterday even with the vanilla it was fun to watch both offensively and defensively.

See I don’t blame you for this. I really don’t I just disagree with the philosophy.

It’s april. Now is the time to be excited. It’s fun being excited so I choose to believe it. If the offense falls flat on its face then frick it at least a got a few months of enjoyment out of it

It looks like the best system they've ever had but it will all depend on the o-line.

Perfectly stated.

It's not even really the scheme. Just look at the amount of talent and how deep it goes. We have 3 solid running backs already with CEH, Fournette, and Curry and are adding two elite level backs in Emery and TDP. Then the deepest WR corps I've seen at LSU in a very long time with speed and size galore.

If the OL can just hold up for 5 seconds and our QBs can hit the open man, I don't see how this offense will bog down, especially when they spread it out.

If it keeps the defense off the field longer it’s a Win/Wn

This is a real problem with fans and media. They want to lump Miles and O together.

Miles was horrible with identifying the problems on the offense. He did nothing to address poor production.

Coach O may or may not be able to make it better, but he has at a minimum tried to change things up.

Yes. We will get the high flying offense that we hoped for. And they will keep our defense gassed, why can’t we have both like Bama and Clemson?

5 seconds behind an oline is an eternity.

Our offense looks completely redone. Burrow looks like a natural in the spread.

Just heard on the radio that the OL still appears to be a major concern. I caught the tail end of the conversation so I didn’t get to hear any specifics but evidently the OL was once again a weak spot according to the those guys.

Maybe in the pros it's an eternity but in college it's not uncommon.

ETA: I don't mean all the time. Just have the ability to, especially when there's only 3-4 rushers.

I have never really thought that any particular system was worthy of hype. Coaches need to look at available personnel and install an offense that gives the team the best chance to win. At the end of it all, the only thing that matters to me is that the season is an enjoyable one and in order for that to happen, we need a pretty good number of wins.

I dont know, but Myles Brennan has a cannon and will be a legit starter when Burrow is gone.

Its hard to judge because the qbs didnt run the ball and that's obviously where Burrow is much better than Brennan.

CEH is going to have a huge year as well. That dude just hides and the explodes. Curry looked real good as well.

Stingley is a stud. Figured hed be a little skinny, but man he's already built.

Statistically that won't be hard. Even last season's numbers were good enough for 4th in passing yardage. That's kind of an indictment on our lack of elite QB play in the modern era.

I still want to see a successful red zone offense. I think the combination of better scheme and having better between the tackle RBs that we lacked in 2018 will yield better results.
