Agreed.

Bama will likely eat our young oline & Aranda / D will fight yet they'll be worn out by late 3rd if the offense leaves 'em out there all day.

Big question is ATM..
Good talent-- and also, Sumlin is slowly sinking, like our uptown houses,
in which doors open / close differently depending on the marshy soil--

but still slowly sinking.

Solid perspective.

The rest of this thread is hyperbole.

Let's just deal with the fact CEO is glued to the current coordinators &
will likely be here through next season unless the team gets utterly-routed
in remaining games.

So, lets GET RID of ALLEVA.
Most of the comments on this thread are unrealistic.

1) it's clear from his family /poverty issues, he's been aiming for pro career to get his Mom to a decent place.
His brother...may be too late for that.

2) Comparing him to Reggie Bush? seriously, Reggie was speedy but Derrius has speed +power & Reggie never had that level of power.

3) He's been playing w/ knee problems, and the farther he's progressed, last few weeks, the more he looks like his old self: pushing guys at point of contact.
--heck,
people expect a guy to instantly break off 50-yard runs given knee issues?

Whiskey . Tango . Foxtrot

I would like to see alotta guys here tell their kids or nephew "oh u have knee problems---then your selfish if u don't come back another year."

Grow a pair. Get real.

again, what is the holdup?

I agree. It would seem to say to a top Management/prospect "LSU wants someone who is bold & accountable-- we're tired of wasting time/money."

The action would speak louder than words (firing Alleva) if backed up by the right attitude during interviews,
i.e. "we want someone to come in & clean this up, in fact we *want* someone to help us replace Orgeron"
as opposed to "come here & wait around because the buyout means Orgeron stays for 2 years."

Leaders & top management candidates in business are often brought in *for* their ability to dig out of this kind of mess.

We aren't looking for a corporate raider yet we do need someone who can deal with the problems we have, including someone known for their skill in dealing w/ budget-battles/contracts/etc.

hhhmm...

Fans waking up to :

1) historically terrible performances all in 1 month

2) Alleva dodging responsibility "Don't get me fired!" :wah:

3) Gabillion dollar buyouts/contracts awarded for???

4) recruiting challenges that will be colossal

5) Cluster Fricke of parking has gotten worse, yay

6) Altho...we have NICE concession stands!

UF frosh QB/ Felipe can use his legs & seems to have good skills, altho their receiver corps are (thankfully) knocked out.

Even w/ our D guys returning, I just can't see us stopping their run game if they wear us down with it for 3 hours in the Swamp.
(it's their strength)

..and incentive : they know they can then give UGA a run for the money.

Maybe Guice goes wild.. i hope.
But our receivers need to get separation--a whole lot, and i don't think it'll be enough.

:dunno:
I like ur revolutionary attitude.. we could use it if aimed at the BOS.

Yes, and the bottom line is still the attitude, the mentality that can't afford Jimbo or Herman or complete a real search--
yet we pay tons $$$ for Orgeron,
rather than a small-buyout.

We had leverage over O... we could have given him incentives that were smart /to our advantage, instead Alleva acted like HE was actually O's agent

I follow you re: Herman...but in context, it's the same old Joe.
Yes--
well stated.

$$$$ + ticket sales...concessions...tshirts /gear..

...this phrase concerns me.

I'd hope the BOS boys are hoping to throw Alleva under the bus. It would make them look heroic & perhaps that's another piece in our favor, who knows.

It's infuriating.

< Last winter >

Joe, let's bring back Jimbo.
"Sorry, can't afford him."

Pound out a deal with Herman.

"Sorry, LSU will Not overpay."

Then get to work on that coaching search.
"Sorry, I decided to hire Orgeron.. a great feel-good story. The fanbase
will galvanize around that accent."

Sounds naive, even a bit risky.
"Sorry, my racquetball friends already weighed-in.. one of them is
an expert on polling & new-media."

Can you back that up with actual data, to maximize our position?
"Sorry, lots of inertia. Things in motion. Just go with it."

Well, like you said, don't overpay.

"Sorry, just invested 12-mil. My racquetball expert says it's psychology,
the new trend is up-front-incentives. Pure genius."

< This Fall >

Joe, we need accountability...show some leadership.

"Sorry, it's the coaches responsibility to protect my job -- make sure
they don't get me fired !" :wah:

Below is the Pulse Rifle from my nephew's favorite video game 'Destiny' - it's got some
arse kicking weapons.

For comic relief. or sanity.. we ain't getting any younger.

Yes. Good work on digging up these facts--- the process is often seen as "just paperwork" yet it clearly matters.

Accountability might fit into mix.. here's hoping.

::: NOTE :::

I just found JPLSU1981's great thread:

TAKE ACTION: Things you as a fan can do to help save this program

LINK

I'm thus going to put my support / comments toward that thread.

-- Can't believe I missed his great Post when he created it the other day --

__ i.e. I don't want to have a repetitive thread, and his ideas / links are excellent work. __

$12 million is only .013% of $910 million. When you look at it in those terms, $12 is minuscule. Quite frankly, you can't afford NOT to fire him. If you don't, that value of $910 million will start to drop astronomically. You have to protect your investment.

Yep. Invest in winning & recruiting---tolerate no one who pushes accountability out the window.

quote:

Well I'll tell ya what...I've never ever hoped that LSU would lose games but if losing out would get rid of CEO and JA and maybe a little whipping cream on top by telling FKing to fk off as well...I'm down for it. This program needs a culture change.....and cleaning house from the top down would do the job just fine.

yes, I too am sick of stagnation.

It seems we have a long-term culture of acceptance.

Yes, that's a solid point re: education /funding--

Having lived /worked all over the country (now an aging/ole geezer), it sickens me to see the continued mentality of our fans that somehow believes our kids will still succeed in the information-job-market while allowing our State education to flounder..

as it has perennially...
JimRockford..Sheek, I agree, seems similar to comments I've heard from old friends that are Alums.

Hence my thread this morning : "Leverage" aka Pressure..

I just hope everyone's collective attitude toward LSU is in the mode of "stop settling for less."

(yeah I almost pun'd it with Les).

Skooter :
Good point.. Emails, tweets, Fbook posts should say that as well.

These "officials" have proven they cannot lead nor manage the system-- not to mention utterly
sending all the wrong messages to tens-of-thousands of students regarding responsibility.
I'm guessing most intelligent & dedicated fans & LSU academic supporters agree at this point, as do I..

Pressure must be applied to these over-paid, unaccountable "leaders" who have no vision, nor the wherewithal to direct things toward success, so:

_ Please see my post /new thread "Leverage." _

Leverage

Posted by Ball_Bearings on 10/5/17 at 7:18 am
It's not too difficult to gain leverage.
If taking this action is not perfect, make suggestions.

1) Post a shite storm of tweets & facebook messages that clearly tells the LSU admin,
the fans and BOS, that Alleva /Alexander must go.

2) Send emails to LSU admin that show your real name plus how much time & money you've given to support LSU over the years, whether ticket purchases, tuition, donations, etc.

Tell the boosters & fans you know to do the same.

_ Results _

Students & alums have done this successfully in recent years at various universities.

They got momentum once tweets & emails went viral. Everyone else realized they felt the same way because their time & money had also been shited into the dumpster fire.

Admins & BOS reacted like deer in the headlights once the media explosions could not be contained.
They realize these things follow them throughout their career.

Sure, millennial kids didn't do this for perfect reasons--usually political correctness, whatever..
All that matters is it works.

Or we can take it up the arse while gullible fans say "all this takes time."

I worked in advertising & digital media here in Louisiana, then Dallas, and --do not hold this
against me-- N.California, only to return home to Nola, older & tired of over-paid talking heads telling us,
" It's up to your leaders. "
..like the time Mark May lectured Alleva for dragging his heals when it
was his solemn duty to hire Orgeron
because "the entire state of Louisiana was behind him."

When real people pressure these *bureaucrats* --by showing real names & bluntly telling them "I've bought tickets for decades"
or.. "I've paid my kid's tuition"-- then the Admin can be held accountable.

Make their jobs miserable and don't forget, they get handsomely paid to ignore you.
