This is not a good hitting team. I don't care what the stats say

No. We are worse in SEC only games. Difference of 52 points lower.

I was asking about the averages from past years

Those stats include a 22 run and 15 run game.
Our stats for the other games are really pedestrian...

Just for fun I looked at Miss St's SEC stats and removed their top 4 scoring games (in which they scored 41 of their 78 runs) and they scored 3.3 runs per game.

I get that we have been below average with risp, but it seems yall are ignoring or manipulating stats to fit your agenda.

Yeah scoring 3 or less in over half of your conference games is an issue

So I looked a little closer. If you remove the top 4 scoring games from every SEC Team....

Other than Kentucky (who is on absolute fire right now) and Arkansas (who has played a bunch of bottom feeders) no team is scoring more than 3.3 runs a game and well over half of the SEC is far below that.

Keep in mind we have already played the 2 teams with the best ERA (Florida and Ole Miss)

So you are going to have to do better than that if you want to convince me

Or we just aren't good in pressure situations.

Where can I find the risp averages? I would like to know if our freshman are bringing that down (slaughter, Smith, Watson)

Stats are scewed by the blowout wins of UGA and Ole Miss on Friday games. Those teams threw the bottom of their bullpen saving the best for Saturday and Sunday.

We just proved that wrong. Atleast if you are talking about runs

The blowout win over Ole Miss was on Thursday night not Friday and LSU won the third game of both of those series and also the second game against Georgia so their "saved" bullpens weren't consequential.

Project or Astro are my sources. I don't have a player by player breakdown.

I haven't had a chance to watch / listen to many of the games, so my perspective is limited. It seems to me that either the entire team is hitting at once or everyone is slumping at once.

The promising sign is Walker emerging as the 3rd starter. If he continues to do well and they can get consistent clutch hitting, they can go a long way.

I've also noticed a lot less runners thrown out at home this year.

situational stats.

i.e. timely hitting

Also note the poor pitching stats for LSU versus the SEC. That has got to improve for post season opportunities

Yeah, I didn't say to remove their top scoring games or whatever.

Since 2012, our worst SEC record was in 2014 at 17-11-1. We scored 3 or less 15 times that season out of 29 SEC games, the most from 2012-now. We're on roughly the same pace so far this season with 8 out of our first 15 games scoring 3 or less. Since 2012, we've won only 33% of the games where we scored 3 or less, a bit better than we're doing this year (25%). The issue is that our pitching is giving up almost a full run more per game this year than in 2014 in SEC games, which plays into us not having as good a record in those low scoring games.

All that to say that while our hitting isn't totally awful, there's clearly a good bit of room for improvement, and we'll need both hitting and pitching to improve to get that 6th straight national seed.

Then why did you remove the top 4 scoring games? You obviously thought that stat was important until I said it was better than most teams in the SEC.

You are just cherry picking stats to fit your narrative. I'm not trying to pick a fight, I just think spinning stats like you have is contributing to the negative attitude on this board.

How about this stat.. 40% of our SEC games have been against the top 2 pitching staffs in the conference
