Of course LSU is a better option for Wade.

#1 LSU NIL 8 million dollars. N C State 4 million dollars. In fact the Wolf Pack only gave Wade half of what was promised.

#2 N C State Athletics is 18 million in the hole this year. They gotta cut programs.

#3 N C State will be left behind in athletics revenue in the next four years when UNC and Virginia bolt to the SEC or Big 10. Florida State and Clemson will leave as well. This is due to the buyout going down and down each year to get out of the ACC. When these four bolt N C State will have a huge void in past money.

4. Wade has the Governor, the LSU President and the President of the BOS in his back pocket.

5. N C State fans are not on board with Will Wade. Will Wade has a cult of LSU fans that love him to death.

6. N C State will always be third or fourth in the pecking order in the state of North Carolina. They will never, ever overtake Duke and North Carolina in basketball.

It’s the same reason it was great to see LSU baseball finally start dominating again it was getting sad seeing people try to brag about titles that happened 30 years ago

The SEC is going to leave the ACC far behind in the next few years I’d much rather be at LSU than NC State going forward. Will Wade knows how high the potential is here

I mean I get what you’re saying but we haven’t won anything in basketball and we’re comparing ourselves to a program that has so we don’t really have room to talk when it comes to who is the better program. If we were in Alabama or auburns position in the sport over the last decade or so then yeah you could prob say that. But not us we haven’t done shite.

If you were around to witness that historic run you shouldn’t be embarrassed. 1) was only in the 90s 2) like I said it was an historic run. Dynasty.

I don’t think bama fans who witnessed sabans historic run will be embarrassed reminiscing on his time at bama years from now. They’ll remember how great and awesome it was.

The premiere sport? Probably not. But you could say the same about Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, and Auburn. Yet, that hasn't kept 3 of those schools from reaching the Final Four in the last 2 years and having tremendous support for their basketball programs.

That is the total disconnect for many. LSU is not a "basketball school" because LSU has an awful coach. But if LSU had a great coach it could be every bit the "basketball school" as the four mentioned above. That's because in reality, like EVERY OTHER university, LSU is not a "football school" or a "baseball school" or a "backgammon school". It's a "WHATEVER IS WINNING" school.

The great coach is the step 1. Everything comes after that. Does anyone think Indiana one day decided that after 100+ years of being one of the worst programs in America they were suddenly going to pour every ounce of money/resources into being a championship football program THEN just find any joe blow to coach it? No! They found the coach FIRST, then the resources and success poured in.

If you build it, he will come

NC State at this point in their history is not a vertical move from LSU when it comes down to resources nor was it when Wade coached here and proved you can win big at LSU basketball like Dale Brown, this isn't the David Thompson NC State Wolfpack here.

It was in the early 90s when LSU football sucked

Yeah. Nattys is really the only stat that matters.

So Minnesota is a better program than Oregon, Wisconsin, VT, etc?

If you were a coach you would covet the BYU and MN jobs more than those others I mentioned strictly bc they've won nattys in their past?

Oh I agree. But lsu has never been able to reel in a great coach except for wade and he blew it. But yes the coach changes everything in a program.

I would say they’re more equal in today’s landscape. Def better than Wisconsin and VT. Those two aren’t even in competitive and haven’t been for awhile. So we’re comparing programs that have won to those who haven’t. The ones have won, regardless when it was, have the advantage here.

yeah I’d take a job at a school in beautiful utah that’s competitive than living in Virginia Oregon or Wisconsin. The only thing Oregon has over everyone else is there relationship With Nike and that hasn’t brought them any closer to winning championships. MN frick that I wouldn’t live there for all of king Midas’ silver.

LSU as a brand is much bigger than NC State, but basketball wise.
The "Brand" doesn't matter.

What school does Will Wade prefer to coach at?

Maybe he really likes LSU and wants to come back.

Yes.

LSU is the only major program in state
Is in the middle of very fertile recruiting grounds
Has a bigger brand

From a facilities stand point, NCST has a better arena and practice facility. Thats it. Other than that, they have access to the same weight room the football team does. And LSU is in the process of getting a new arena

If you get a coach in here like Wade, there is no reason this program cannot have the same success Auburn had under Pearl, Alabama is currently having with Nate Oats or Florida is having with Todd Golden.

Wade even said it in his opening press conference. This place is a sleeping giant in basketball. There is no reason we can't be Florida. You just need the right person to wake it up. It obviously isn't McMahon, he looks half asleep on the sidelines.

They have just been lazy with hires. Trent thought his name and LSU would recruit itself. Johnny actually wasn't doing a bad job until Ben Simmons poisoned the program. You finally had the right guy here in Wade and you fired him instead of fighting for him. Then you just went out and hired the hottest name at the time without doing research.

Louisiana isn't that fertile anymore but it doesn't matter the way it does in football.

Alt, me, you and a handful of other posters are the only ones that get these financial realities.

Most of the goobers on the rant don't realize things in the college sports world are changing, and fast.

LSU is currently leaving NC state in the dust, and I don't see any way that changes.

We actually did this year. Spent almost double what NCST spent.

Plus look at conference revenue share, LSU will get 2-3 times what NCST gets from the ACC. This gap is going to continue to grow.

The ACC conference is a "dead man walking". It's a matter of time before the ACC is gobbled up by the SEC and BIG 10 cuz of football. NC State is the 3rd best option in their own state, slightly ahead of Wake. They most likely will be left out like Oregon State or Oklahoma State. Will is smart, he knows this.

It’s a better basketball job and Raleigh Is awesome. Baton Rouge doesn’t compare at all.

It would take a large sum of money to uproot me from there to Baton Rouge if I lived there.

For a guy who owns a large car dealership in Baton Rouge, it’s pretty amazing how much Matt Bowers bashes LSU.
