What shouldn't ever happen? Losing three good players in one draft?

It’s a lot of unproven talent but that doesn’t mean the talent doesn’t exist. Players do get better.

Right. We hired a proven hitting coach. Now we will see just how good he is. There are plenty of capable bats on this team, we just need to get the most out of them. We haven't done that in the past, but we haven't seen Eddie Smith with time to work.

No. He is saying in June of 2020 that LSU will not be able to hit in March of 2021. Look at who it's coming from, and he thinks he is speaking absolute facts, so he is saying how unacceptable it is for an LSU to not be able to hit in 2021 (almost a full year away).

Should never go into a season without a high caliber Pro prospect that is either proven his worth or is ready to come into his own.

Pretty hard for a young guy to prove their worth in a 17 game, cancelled season

LSU is not screwed but they're going to need some of these recruits to step up immediately and I would be surprised to see them look at some veterans in the trasnfer portal.

Beloso is a solid All-SEC type player. DiGiacomo showed a ton of potential in limited time.

Hampton, Doughty, and Travinski were all top 50 high school bats coming into college. Arnold is a complete unknown but he's depth at the very least.

Crews and Drost are top 30 high school bats this year. Thompson is going to be a star.

There has been almost no sample size so yes there is concern and rightfully so.

Ole LE acting like we just missed the tournament with zero Freshmen playing an inning.

Cade Beloso is a proven power bar in the SEC

He’s a solid college player but you aren’t building a great hitting team if he’s your best hitter

Hampton, Sanford, cranford, Arnold, and Travinski were all guys that could’ve worked their way into the starting lineup this past season.

Milazzo is the best defensive catcher we’ve had in a decade. (I think it’s between him and pap, but that’s for another day).

Doughty has big league potential.

Hell even Dugas hasn’t had a full healthy season under his belt.

We have several, but they are all pitchers.
Plus we have Hampton and the kid who passed on the draft who were both top shelf prospects.

No, we don’t have a Bergman or a Cabrera right now but wd aren’t without talent. We have lots of options. Now that isn’t always good.
Wd need these options to step up.

Pitching is fine

Hampton can’t be counted on, tho.

I agree with that assessment on Hampton.

Part of his potential is that he is a good football player.

He did not take to college level pitching like someone who could afford to not be dedicated full time to the sport.

Not saying he couldn't be a spot performer or serve a role, but I have my doubts you can pencil him into the everyday lineup

Yes. This will be a year where LSU doesn't have a bonafide #1 on the mound. It was a struggle already

Hard to get on board with this....I mean as far as I know 2021 will be the first season to follow an LSU baseball season that was cancelled prior to the start conference play due to a pandemic. That wasn't a coaches fault, that wasn't an admins fault, and that wasn't a players fault. It is also the first time that that LSU will go into a season where the roster rules have been completely changed by the NCAA for a singular season.

I think that is there is any season where LSU and their staff deserve a pass it is 2021....and who knows like someone said some of the unproven bats might come around or we could just pitch well enough to pitch ourselves into hosting a super regional....who knows?

Say what? Jaden Hill showed enough to be considered a legitimate #1 on the mound...not to mention what Marceaux and Labas were able to show in the short 2020 season.

Pitching won't be the issue in 2021 unless injuries occur.
