He has a better record than Sunbelt Billy. And a winning record against Sunbelt Billy.

Right on! Winning is important. But if they are competitive and give 100% I'm with ya. But this is a mess for sure

There are people on this board that believe Kiffin and Napier are superior coaches so this really isn’t the place to get reasonable answers

That is just the market for an experienced head coach now.

Bama's guy has been at the D1 level for 4 years and he makes more than BK.

Will he win a national championship here? Who knows. Am I content with how this season played out? Not at all but it was clear this team lacks our typical depth and talent which was depleted over the years. Its up to him to do get that right.

But to act like Brian Kelly was a shitty coach before he came here is beyond stupid. He had ND in the playoffs twice and undefeated in the BCNCG during his stint there. That program was fricking arse for 20 years before he showed up.

Before that he took Cincy from a shitty also ran to playing in the Orange Bowl then the Sugar bowl his last 2 years. He was undefeated during his last year there.

To call him a bad coach is beyond stupid. Hes turned around every program hes ever been at. That cannot be disputed.

That still doesn't take the loss to Vandy off his resume.

Who would you rather we got that year? Lincoln Riley? He sucks too. Give the better option?

Kelly’s only above average. Look at that dude at Alabam. He’s only above average. Kiffin’s only above average. Alabam has 3 regular season losses. Saban would only have 1 loss with that same team. You’re lying if u say that doesn’t feel good. We’re finally all about even with regards to coaches. There’s only 1 Saint Nick Saban, and he’s retired.

Like other posters have said, he's a high floor/low ceiling type of coach.

Good enough for most but not championship caliber as this job requires.

He’s not as bad as the rantards make him out to be but that doesn’t mean he’s that good either

We could be stuck in 9-4/10-3 purgatory until he decides he’s made enough.

A little bit of both but he’s too long in the tooth honestly
