Is Joe Burrow expected to be any more than an Average QB?

You see how this works?

Look, he doesn’t need to set the world on fire. He needs to be able to win games though especially against those teams with equal talent.
He is about a “B” rated SEC QB. I’ll take that.

If we want to win the west and make the playoffs, he needs to be above average.

That doesn't mean that can't or won't though. An entire off season to develop timing and chemistry with his WRs can make a world of difference.

This narrative of “an average qb can win championships with our talent” has grown tiresome.

We’ve had average qbs with Lee, Etling and Burrow last year and none of them won the national championship.

To get it done these days you need elite qb play and elite defense. I think we stand a shot to have that this year and I hope I’m right.

Exactly. Look at the last three QBs to win NC. Lawrence, Tua, and Watson. All elite.

Look at the teams that have beaten Bama recently . Average QB play isn’t cutting it.

Exactly. It will take elite players at a lot of positions, including QB, to make it to the playoffs.

There's so many similarities to Mett. All new WRs to work with first year. Slow start with a few highlights. Down the stretch they start to light it up. Next season got everyone back and lit that season up.

The only main difference is no mainstay at RB like we had with Hill then. But there's alot of talent there.

No, he is an average SEC qb. Just face the facts and then you won’t be disappointed

It’s fair to say he was the definition of “average” last year.

The question is, will he take that step forward and become a “good” quarterback

Why does being disappointed in a sports team hurt you so much? I’d rather be optimistic and happy all offseason than be miserable year around

Absolutely

Burrow has a very good upside. People expecting no improvement are being ridiculous.

If you call setting multiple records at LSU this season average then I guess he'll be average.

The entire team will go as far as the o-line takes them. They have the ability to make Burrow look like Heisman candidate or a bum.

Jarret Lee And Danny Etling were not average QBs. They were below average low, ceiling SEC QBs. Burrow is much better than those guys.

If Burrow played behind the line the Lee had we would be more assured of a playoff spot

If you lack confidence in what Coach Orgeron is building just say so. I believe he’s got a young, offensive guru remodeling this offense in a way we’ve never seen.

And I believe Burrow is gonna have a great year. 11-1 and a playoff birth
