I know this was one of the reasons for lack of sucess in the past (AKA pick 6's). How's he looking in practice and is Kragthorpe actually being the QB coach that he never had?

No idea but JJ was really bad at checking Wr's....I think JL's lack of success in the past was more of his lack of experience...especially in 08 going against defenses like FL and Ala

Not only is he looking off, he is throwing no-look passes.

Do you HONESTLY think ANYONE on this board knows this?

I swear, Saturday can't get here soon enough. At least we'll have "FIRE LES MILES!!!" threads again.

He now thinks that its what they expect, and is throwing to the guy he is staring down.

you should hang around. Even if we beat you guys, there will be fans on here wanting to fire him because of some ridiculous reason... maybe we gave up more than 150 rushing yards, or maybe (insert player name) didn't get as many touches as the fan wanted.

We have the best and worst fans in the universe.

wow.

That's really not why Lee had the pick 6s he had. Those happened because he threw into double/triple coverage. Most college QBs don't look off DBs, why do people think they do?

I'm calling for his head if Shep doesn't attempt a pass on Saturday.

Not taking up for the guy, but some of those bounced out of his recievers hands.

I thought Lee did great in 2008 for a freshman thrown in against some of the best, most athletic defenses in the country. Some of the picks he threw were good balls, but the defense just closed faster than he could have thought. The receivers didn't help on some others, as balls deflected off their hands and got picked. Idiots should be embarrassed about the ways many so-called fans treated that kid too. Who knows about "looking off" and going through progressions...no one on this board knows...that's for sure. Lee will be just fine, but it takes good play calling, good protection, good routes, good hands, etc to succeed.

Good lord? Did any of you JL haters watch anything the man did last season? Unlike JJ, he doesn't have to wait for a receiver to come open to throw the ball. Unlike JJ, more often than not he can hit the receiver in stride resulting in more YAC.

He does not scramble well.

For the life of me, I cannot understand how JJ, the 100th ranked QB in the FBS in 2010, kept his job as a starter last season and didn't have to 'win' his job again in the spring and summer, a la Dayne Crist at Notre Dame (ranked #60). Some of the notables ranked ahead of JJ: Chris Relf (MSU), Stephen Garcia (SCar), and Matt Simms (Tenn).

LSU just got an upgrade in the QB department.

I'd much rather he break the habit of throwing off his backfoot.

In reality, you don't have to always look off primary receivers and make three reads to be successful in college.

But, if you lob the ball because you aren't stepping into it, it allows athletes to make a play on it.

Well said!! The kid can play...people harping on the negative past have zero clue about the game! He is definitely a serviceable SEC QB, hopefully more!

Better protection will help that.
