Maybe a little early, but then maybe not. Seems the O line is a bit confused with this zone blocking scheme.

I'll give it a while before we make that call, everyone wanted Adam Henry ran after his first few games because of some drops

it's not the right fit for the type of offense we run. Maybe it get's better this year, but I don't think we can stay a power running 2 TE, 1 FB running team with it. I wonder if the want to run more spread in the future.

this is what our fan base needs to do for this entire team , all the skill positions on offense is young , new blocking scheme , new interior defensive line and lots of young players all over the field ....
why don't we just wait and see what this team looks like after more than three games ...

Yes he has been here less than a year but the o-line has regressed. With essentially the same line that we had last year, we can't run block nor pass block. We were suppose to have one of the best lines in the country and were getting manhandled. The only diference is Grimes, sorry but I'm not inpressed. Hope I'm wrong but didn't like the hire from day one.

True, but this seems worse.

He has an oline that returned 4 starters looking significantly worse than last year.

They look just bad.

I didn't like him at Auburn. He recruited well but our offensive line sucked after 2010.

People on here talked as if Grimes was bigger than Jesus all summer. I didn't buy it then and people thought I was stupid because everyone wants to buy into some hype. The best OL coach in the country isn't coming to us from Maryland. Sorry. Not happening. We didn't get the best guy for the job and it's clear.

I'm not a Mawae guy either since he has never even coached before.

Someone please explain zone blocking vs. whatever blocking we used to do (or should do). Thanks.

Not that it matters but I thought he came from VTech.

Then why the hell did Miles hire him? Surely Miles knew that zone blocking was his specialty. If we're not gonna use the spread offense, then Grimes was a bad fit from the start. In that case it would be more Miles' fault than Grimes'.

Like the the 2011 team? Perhaps that spoiled people's perceptions.

It appears to have been a terrible hire and the Tigers and Les will pay for it. Again, I hope I'm wrong.

It's not the offensive line, or Grimes. It's the fact defenses don't respect our down-field passing.

I wouldn't go that far yet. The O-line looked suspect, but time will tell. Auburn and Florida games coming up fast!
