Is It Too Early to Get Unreasonably Excited Over Steven "Monster" Milam?

He has 37 at bats, which is tied for 3rd most on the team. He has the best batting average (.405) outside of Ashton Larson, who has only had 8 plate appearances. He's tied for second in hits (15), and is also second in OBP (.520) behind Travinski. He's only 19 but looks like he's been playing college ball for years. I know the quality of opponent has been lacking so far, but he's faced the same pitching as everyone else.

No, I don't think its too early to get excited about him. The scouts were pretty big on him coming out of HS. He shows plate discipline beyond his years. Yes, every year it seems we have a freshman or two doing well early, only to struggle against SEC pitching. I don't think that will necessarily be the case with Milam. I mean, sure, SEC pitching will slow everybody down a bit, but I think Milam will sustain success, and will remain a huge asset in the lineup.

I love this kid seems to do everything right. Even catching pop-up the way everybody know it’s his. The slide at home thou not needed was perfect.
This dude is a dude no doubt.

not at all - I took favorable notice of him the first time I saw him -> wondering "who is this 'little guy'?". He's been almost perfect in every situation I've seen.

Safe to say if he was 6 foot he would have never set foot at LSU. very excited to see him the next few yrs. Stage isn’t too big. I think he feels right at home.

Big fan of the little guy. “Monster”

He’ll be my favorite player on the team before long. Still have some dudes on the team this year that were instrumental in winning us a title but I say by next year he will be.

He’s already there for me, but Travinski may be tied with him.

I said over two weeks ago that he is the best baseball player on the team. I will continue to say so.

Some players just have another switch when the games start for real, he’s in that category
Even Jay indicated he needed to work on some things coming out of fall and he took it to heart

My biggest concern is still Kling and jones because they continue to struggle at times which will be magnified come sec play

He’s a dude. He’s been getting recruited by jay johnson since he was in 7th grade. He’s a baseball player and not a normal human.
