I just said chase was in the top 10. I’m not sure what was misread
Henry Ruggs can be explosive too. It’s ok to admit.
He leads the nfl in ypc. He’s 16th in yards. For the season, he’s the only player in the top 10 twice for MPH with the ball in his hands. Hes legit

what is 3.1?

You consistently make dumb arse points. It’s almost impressive how shite your takes are. Always

i think of chase as more of a tough and consistent ball catcher than explosive receiver

More open...my point is once you're open does it really matter how open you are? The stats seem to say not really

Chase is 2nd in yards per reception and 4th in yards
I'd take the more consistent guy in Chase

Ruggs separation yardage at the time of completion: 3.1 yds
Chase: 1.9 yards
That may be true, but Ruggs doesn't have the size and strength of Chase to create separation if he doesn't blow past the DB at the LOS. Chase isn't as fast as Ruggs obviously but he's still fast and he's a lot bigger and stronger. I also think Chase has better ball skills than Ruggs.

I've watched every Bengal game and no one has stayed with him on a deep route. He gets by his man almost every time he runs deep. Burrow has under thrown him a couple of times, but on the replays you watch the route and Chase is by his man all the time. I don't know how to quantify it, but I always thought in college that Chase was just more physical in his upper body than the db's trying to jam him and he could muscle his way by them and get open. I'm certain it has something to do with size, strength, and balance, but when db's try to knock Chase off stride it just doesn't work. The Bengals TE was talking about Chase and said it doesn't look like he's running fast, but no one can keep up with him. He's just got an easy stride that allows him to get by his man and keep his eye on the ball and adjust to the throw and make the catch.
Chase has this uncanny ability to create separation at the last second. It's almost as if he finds a second gear

Chase is definitely the more complete package. Ruggs does have elite speed though

Tyreek is #1, Chase not far behind
As for Ruggs, he’s a top notch deep threat but Chase is a much more polished receiver overall

Chase is proving to be as reliable a deep threat as anyone. Between his strength and acceleration, he is able to get late separation on most of his go routes.
People will never agree on what “most explosive” means, so this thread is predictably off the rails. Half the posters are responding as if it just means “best”

Chase uses his core and upper body strength to get separation as much as his speed and route running. He's a total package and I think a top 5 WR in the league.
But if we're talking just explosiveness off the line and out of breaks, I don't think he's top 5. There are guys in the league like Tyreek Hill and others that are stop watch freaks out of breaks. That doesn't mean I'd rather either one over Chase, it's just one metric.
You can be crazy explosive and have bad numbers or bad hands or something. Jaylen Waddle hasn't lit the world on fire but that guy is explosive as frick.

The burrow chemistry factor also helps

I don't know about explosive, but he is one of the most dominant.

Agree. Chase would be good on any team, but the Burrow chemistry has sped up the learning curve/production substantially.
