Believe it when I see it, they also in 2025 said they were taking SOS into account

If it is anything like that, at best what this means as they will take it into consideration for teams with the SAME record in the power 4 and not use it as a metric for teams with a worse record to get in above teams with a better record in the power 4

Do we really want something else that diminishes the meaningfulness of regular season games even more? The best part of the game I love is that every game matters. Every game is like a playoff game. There definitely needs to be some scheduling balance across the board but not sure this is the way.

Saying 9-3 “won’t” get in was stupid. I’ve seen more than one season in our lifetimes where only 5 or 6 P4 teams had 2 losses or fewer.
It’s not going to happen often, but they will absolutely have some e loss teams in the playoffs.

A 9-3 Mississippi would get in...losses to likely Georgia and Texas...I think a team like that would be deserving at 9-3. That Louisville win could end up being a nice win for conference vs. conference discussions. SEC needs to win those non-conference matchups. I was not pulling for Texas, but it helps the SEC they beat OSU.

The 9 game conference makes for more exciting games but it’s rough when you gotta play 3-4 top 10 teams a year.

This dramatically increases our Playoff odds. Now we want Ole Miss to finish 8-4 or worse or 10-2 and better though

Imagine that people didn't care that it was not a metric in the first place and just cheered for a playoff even though what they were given was a pile of dogshit.
Hot take, the problem with college football for the last 30 years has not been how they decided who played for a national championship, it's been regular season schedule inequality and the inability to view close losses in difficult games better than big wins against vastly inferior competition.
