Well there is a natural depression that sets in, to level out the high we have been on. Also nothing on this earth satisfies for long. We were made for somewhere else. Peace...

I’m sad because my uncle passed away from cancer just before football season and never got to see this. He was a huge Tiger fan.

This analogy actually fits the OP's narrative better than your argument. What would the rest of sex be like after that, an anti-climax (pun intended).

I was last week but the staff turnover and cruiting has helped given me something else to look forward to.

Live off the high that we had the best team ever and our best season ever. We will have other great moments in our future. Chin up.

Is anyone else kind of sad?
quote:
So while I’m still super happy for what this team accomplished, I can’t help but feel a little bad because if I am honest with myself I know I will never have as much fun or enjoyment with an LSU team in my life. Anyone else feel kind of the same?

LSU won 3 national championships since 2003, and played in 4 national championship games during that time. We witnessed what might never be accomplished again by ANY team. Sad? Hell no !!! Enjoy the moment.

Exactly! It's the old adage, be happy with what you have.

And realize that, there may be some teams that may APPROACH the level of play that LSU accomplished this year (hopefully LSU again included), but what we need to remember is that there are what? 125 Division 1 schools, and LSU is one of a select few that have actually WON a national championship, even MULTIPLE titles!

And we are now a member of an even more select few that have won 4 or more national championships (USC, Texas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Miami, alabama, Penn State, Pittsburgh, FSU?, Florida?, Clemson?, Princeton, Yale, Army...

Hell no. If this happened every year it wouldn’t be as awesome as it was. It was special. Also I know I sound like a broken record but we’ve won it all in last 16 years with 3 different coaches, feels like we’re just born winners at this point.

I feel better about LSU’s future after this championship than I ever have.

Exactly and the actual quote is "Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened."

It was said at the end of my father's eulogy. I wish he'd been here for this season.

This should last me a few years. Give me a championship and I can wait a while for another.

Yeah, it's the same kind of feeling I had after I had sex with Kate Beckinsale once. I knew I would never top it.
