This is such a low bar post expansion. I need a final 4 and no blow out losses to feel good about the direction.

Me too, but I can’t see Kelly taking down Clemson in a season opener. We’re losing that game. Obviously there is something wrong with his teams in season openers against equal competition. He’s probably too arrogant to try and understand what changes need to be made during August practices and meetings to stop this horrific trend.

There will never be a season in any sport for any coach that doesn’t have a ton of excuses. Thats what LSU fandom has become, excuse making. It’s ingrained now.
You hated Will Wade when LSU hired him, now you defend him.
You hate Jay Johnson all the time, including the whole season he won a championship.

Yet you sit here and lie and make excuses all the time when you are wrong

There should be no excuse to not make the playoffs. I am very excited and nervous to see what they bring to Clemson. This will be the most talented roster overall that BK has had. Offense will not be as good as 2019 or 2023, but those were all time top 5 in college football history good (2 top 7 NFL in WR yards, 4th ranked QB in QBR as a rookie, 4th overall pick, 2nd round TE). It will still be a great offense. Defense should be the best we've had since 2019.

If they do not make some playoff noise it will be a big fail.

BK at a minimum needs to make the Playoff Semifinlas anything less is underperforming.
He has proven to be unprepared for Game 1s, if they lose to Clemson that pretty much guarantees a 9-3 and no playoffs. As they have their harder games on the Road (Bama, Ole Ms, Clemson etc)
The OL/Safeties will make or break the team as the other positions have returning starters. Ol 4 possibly all 5 could be new and Safety should be 2 new starters.
The issue is BK knows 9-3 is safe as Woody gave him all the leverage with the guaranteed 10yrs/buyout. So no incentive to hustle, work even 12hr days or weekends unless it’s a game weekend. Punching the clock and getting paid.

It isn’t a narrative it’s a fact. Kyren lacy (RIP) and cj Daniels were 4.6 type guys neither were burners more possession guys. Shelton Sampson was suppose to develop into that but he was a flat out bust unfortunately. Kyle Parker has a chance to get there kid made some flashes unfortunately he got hurt.
Anderson is incredible but he’s a slot wr and only 5’9 so he isn’t a boundary burner. Why do you think our deep passing gsme clicked the most vs Oklahoma and Baylor ? Becusse Chris Hilton was healthy let’s not overthink this

Baylor and OK both had so-so secondaries at best. Okie was better and the one stud LB but the secondary was very average.
Glad Hilton played well but he has to do that for a whole season and not get hurt for 5-7games etc. stay healthy and use his sped with all the other guys and could have a great senior season

The incentive is winning a natty, which Kelly very much wants to do.

Agree on all fronts. It’s a tough ask to ask our offense to be 2023 2019 prolific even tho I think they will be high powered in their own right we are absolutely loaded at wr and Green may be the most dynamic TE out of both groups.
Defense on paper absolutely is the most talented since 2019. We’re back to having dudes at cornerback, safety is shored up with the addition of AJ, Cooley, and hopefully spears can build off his strong spring as he has incredible tools. DL has a lot of potential I’m very high on McKinley and breax both should have massive year 2’s , guillory is back healthy, and we added another quality guy in the portal, sydir Mitchell should help shore up the run defense with his size. LB should be good as long as weeks is healthy and keys takes another step.

This has to be a troll.
what do you call it when WRs are open downfield and the ball is continuously overthrown?

Yes nuss does have to take some blame also with his deep ball it was flat out erratic and timing was off with the wideouts. Im just saying when you think of guys like lacy and Daniels you think of their strong hands and route running. Being a take the top off type of wr isn’t either guy’s game

ehhh OK’s backend was pretty good pretty sure their safeties were nfl draft picks and they flustered a pretty good bama wr room. But your point is valid Hilton has absolutely got to stay healthy and get through a seaosn healthy. We know the ability he has when he’s fully healthy even if it was against lesser backends like Baylor his speed is still evident

Wants too maybe…but is he willing to sacrifice and go all in 24/7 to do it that he hasn’t shown yet.
I hope he does win a natty but he will have to do more than he has ever done in any other year coaching.

Based on what exactly?
I mean this is basically his legacy at stake, and he seems to have a pretty large ego. He seems pretty motivated to me.

It's time for him to produce. If he wasn't so arrogant when he came in and retained Corey Raymond we probably win the national title in 23.
You could easily view this in a positive light and say we were that close to being really elite in 2023 and that we’re still knocking on the door; especially after the way we loaded up this offseason.
But instead you choose to view everything in a negative light and be miserable.

You can be positive, I'll be realistic and the only way in hell you don't make the playoffs with that offense is to shite the bed historically bad on defense and he did.
He get credit for Jayden, he also gets credit for not winning shite with him though.

It's ironic that had BK not landed Daniels, Taylor, Campbell, and developed the rest, and then went something like 7-5 in 2022 and then something like 8-4 in 2023, the perception around him as a coach would be much more positive.
In ways, he's a victim of his own success.
