What does this even mean Did you have us only winning 6-7 games

If I'm remembering right, most fans and sports writers had us definitely losing to Georgia and Alabama, probably dropping Auburn and Miami, and pick-em for Texas A&M, Florida, and Miss St before the year. That's about a 7 win, 5 loss season.

One loss is a successful regular season.

Two losses will be disappointing.

Three losses or more will be unacceptable and a change should be discussed.

Now? Yes.

By August? No we’ll be too young

By October? No we won’t be talented

By November? “Hey we have a chance to win X games with a bowl win! Be happy you negative fricks! This was always going to be a rebuilding year everyone knew it! Next year we are going to win it all with Max Johnson!!”

Rinse. Repeat.

Wtf are you even talking about?

I know you're ever the sunshine pumper but it's got you looking for beef where there's none there. How is high expectations going into next year based on a solid season this year bitching?

Are we trying to progress as a program here? Or are we trying to stay stagnant? What's our goal as a program, Pirate?

You would think. Hopefully our offensive linemen don't "suck" next year too. That seems to be the excuse du jour. So I guess we'll have some true freshmen O-linemen come in next year and just totally not suck, and overcome the suckness of the current group.

There yall go again claiming things that haven't happened yet.

Not claiming anything, but this is a thread talking about future hypotheticals.

People are legit acting like this season is a failure, when a victory in the bowl game (IF IT HAPPENS) would mean this was our best season since 2011, and that's not even debatable.

It's in Pirate's and other poster's best interest to try as hard as they possibly can to keep the expectations low af. They will lobby HARD for it. Wait and see.

How exactly did you get that from my post?

Did you feel excuses needed to be made this year? Excuses, apologies, whatever terminology you would like.

I had us losing to Georgia, Alabama, @Auburn, and one or two of Miami, @A&M, @Florida, and Miss St... so I was hopeful for 8-4 with our schedule tbh.

Obviously Auburn and Miami ended up being mediocre but Florida was a little better than people thought, so 8-4 or 9-3 was about right for this year after adjusting.

But myself or nobody else really had no idea how our offense was gonna be considering new OC, new QB, the loss of Ingram on the o-line, WR's being wild cards, and an unknown but uninspiring backfield. Turns out they were mediocre but should improve next year with damn near the whole offense returning.

I mean, how many times has it been "predicted by pundits" for us to only win 6-7 games and we end up winning 9-10

Wouldn't you give any other coach till his third year? Why would O be any different?

Uh no? Most predicted 7-8 wins at the beginning of the year. We lost our entire offense from the season prior.

He's shite the bed every year he's been the head coach, interim or full time. But next year is the year he'll be responsible for the product put on the field.

Jesus Christ.
