Idk if you remember but Pavia wasn’t all that great in our game. Our offense cost us. Also Vandy was at home.

This. They always have a bunch of strong arse Midwest baws named Tyler Van Vulkenberg or some shite that are unafraid to lay the wood.

Those stats are flukey, we played some lower tier teams that elevated them in the Top 20. My eyes don't lie, we sucked, couldn't stop a mobile QB and wasn't too good against a pocket passer.

And we also have a top 25 or top 20 strength of schedule depending on what source you use. Do you think all other teams just fill their schedules with top teams?

I don't think I lied. We sucked, still haven't figured out how to stop Marcel Reed, Pavia and others. A good defense held Reed to 6 points and game sealing INT. That kid ran through Baker's defense like milk through a low lactose person. IMO, Pete Golding's defense better than Baker. We had a better talent than Ole Miss and they still looked better. The sign of a good DC is your scheme; it's not always talent which he tends to need a lot just to be decent. Baker is OVERRATED!!

Iowa has zero opt outs, and a DC that is elite and loyal to that program.
All rhe Iowa "Weeks Brothers" stayed loyal to their team while effectively playing their assignments on Defense. (BB's Defense isn't nearly as effective without Whit Weeks)

Iowa has given up more yards to Pavia than LSU did.

We sucked

The reality is we would have probably had a top 10 defense if we had any offense at all. The defense was required to be on the field way more than they should and still finished 14th in the country in PPG. Yeah we get it, dude. They weren’t great every game. That’s how it goes sometimes.

Don't count your eggs before they chicken. Vandy came back from 34-10 vs Texas in the 4th and nearly won. They can easily come back today
