Awesome. Post positive LSU statistics with comps to major power 5 teams and I get 3 downvotes no responses.

Sir, this is a pity party today. Take that positive spin shite somewhere else. Come back on Thursday!

You should consider that a badge of honor. I've never understood why people worry about downvotes.

This is just a straw man if you don’t add any context at all. Specifically, how many of the yards came against two completely overmatched opponents? I know everyone plays OOC games, but let’s at least talk about the fact that positives on offense from those performances haven’t crossed over to our P5 games yet. We’ve had slow starts and offensive issues of one kind of another in each of those three games. Do you really not think this will become a bigger problem as we play better and better teams going forward?

While I am not discounting these stats, you can’t just make a blanket statement that these raw numbers mean we will be fine in SEC play. They alone don’t cancel out the poor passing performance last night and the inconsistency of our run game vs the kind of competition we know we are playing the rest of the way.

I bet Mike leach’s offense has more than 80 yard passing against Auburn.

Also the bulk of those offensive stats came against southern and New Mexico. Let’s not get too carried away.

Is it possible to find yards per attempt and it’s relative rank?

Wonder where we were ranked after game 5 in 2015?

Keep up, man. Yards per Attempt (91st), Yards per Completion (110th) and Yards per Play (70th) make the straw man too heavy for this fool to knock over.

ETA: LINK.

Hello Coach Miles. So you like our offense, huh?

If you haven’t noticed O didn’t leave us with a Mettenberger, OBJ, Landry, Guice or Fournrtte. And Kelly had to resort to bringing in freshmen and transfers because OL and TE were weak.

It’s not all on the OC.

Yes because yard per attempt are how you win football games clearly more important than scoring offense

Care to point out an SEC team without a group of 5 OOC game?

True but the Auburn game is heavily squeezing our numbers.

6.7 yards per play outside last night.

Last night was a bad night for our offense.

I hate to tell.you this, but if those other schools you named were to play New Mexico and Southern, their offense would jump 10 spots

The point is that, when we are playing SEC teams head to head, what either one of us did OOC doesn’t fricking matter. The success we have had vs Southern and NM hasn’t translated to any other first half we’ve played. Other than a stretch of good play in the 2nd half vs State, please point to the positive offensive performances you’ve seen vs P5 opponents so far. Maybe 2 drives vs FSU? That IT.

How in the frick do you think that bodes well for next week when we play an offense that’s in the top 5 in pretty much every category? Cherry-picking a few stats will not help you in SEC play.

It was 6.1 last week actually, and that was good for 37th at the time.

But you are still making my point from before- our P5 and G5/FBS offensive performances DO NOT CORRELATE in any way. None of the success we’ve had vs lesser competition has translated. We’ve played 2 good teams and 1 bad one from the P5 and all three have shut us down cold for a half and still limited us after that. Unless something changes, our offensive rankings, especially passing, will be in the toilet by the beginning of November.

Auburn always has tough d and are tuff at home. Dellinger needs to be back on o-line.

Thank goodness for that defensive touchdown last night. Look, there is no denying that the Auburn game, and long stretches in our other two P5 games were a flat out stagnant offense.

I still think it's 70% the QB and 30% our OC not figuring out how to coach and call around our QB's glaring deficiencies throwing the ball.

Their offense has nothing to do with our offense.

Their defense is 95th in Total
defense. 11th in the conference.

they went to OT vs Pitt and only beat Florida by 5 points for a reason.
