Get over it. Let Indiana enjoy the ride. They are clearly the best team this year and have been ranked #1 for quite some time.

Teams aren't as talented as they were in 2019. NIL and the portal changed everything. Big time programs could stack talent in the past while now that talent is distributed more evenly.
With parity everyone regresses to the mean. 2019 LSU was stacked as was 2020 Bama.
It's why the SEC doesn't appear to be as strong as it was 3 years ago. Even Saban's last Bama team wasn't as strong as before. Kirby's current UGa teams are not were they were in 22 and 23.
It's a different era. I think 2019 LSU would easily beat this Indiana team.

LSU had no control either. They would have had all wins of top 10 opponents if they were scheduled! The greatest college team ever, The 2019 LSU Tigers! FACT!

"schedule and quality of opponents ". may not have any (or as much) impact on discussion about the 'best team of the year" -

but it has EVERYTHING to do with any discussion of "best of all time."

I think that one was 27-14 but the point stands.

It was 27-14 but I see your point. Hoosiers can’t touch 2019 LSU

Taking down OSU, Alabama and Oregon in successive games is no small feat for anyone.

The fact that people are actually trying to compare Indiana to 2019 LSU is laughable. It means they either hate LSU, or they know absolute frick all about football.

That's another hilarious comparison. Burrow is the only player in the history of college football with 6,000+ yards in a season. You'd have to double Mendoza's stats to be close to JB.

If Cignetti is 100x better than O, LSU was absolutely better because they they did it without a good coach.

Indiana has a long time before a road game at Miami. All I’m saying.

Agreed. Assuming they beat Miami, Indiana will have amazingly, possibly, jumped into being considered one of the top 10 college football teams of all time. However, it won’t displace LSU’s 2019/20 season as the best ever.

And as Greenie said, you can argue all day about who the best team is, but there’s no debating who had the best season.

IU has no control over how many ranked teams they beat, if their conference has 20 or 1 ranked team

All they can do is beat the teams on the schedule, so that argument is dumb

So, no the greatest then

The quality of wins isn’t close.

Amen. There really is no discussion.
