Anybody wanna bet that if LSU wins on Sunday some other team will be voted #1?

It’s not disrespect, it’s rewarding Indiana for beating a highly ranked opponent and a better strength of schedule. If lsu beat South Carolina, they will be number 1. Lsu only beat a lowly 24 ranked Arkansas at the time . And they aren’t ranked as of today.

LSUs SOS is horrible. Played only 1 ranked team and they were 20sumthing....
they beat USC, they wont get jumped

For anyone wondering why LSU has trouble moving up the rankings despite their undefeated record, LSU has played just 1 ranked opponent. Unfortunately, LSU has had a soft schedule on paper, but they’ll have the tourney to show off.
Ranked Opponents:
SC - 4,
Indiana - 5
LSU - 1
UConn - 8
Iowa - 6
Stanford - 7

LSU struggled against Georgia and then had to work hard to beat a not so good A&M team. Thats probably party due to all the energy they spent beating Tennessee, physical and emotional.
Indiana got rewarded for a bug game. I would still agree its unusual for an unbeaten team to get jumped, but there is at least some rationale to support it. I think if LSU had handily beaten Ga and A&M, they would be #2.
Its much ado about nothing at this point. LSU plays at South Carolina next week. Win that game and they will jump Indiana and South Carolina. If they lose a competitive game, they'll probably stay at 3.
Being a 2 or 3 seed in the national tnmt is about the same. You wouldnt have to meet South Carolina, if they are still number one, until the finals if you get that far.

Angel Reese has a chance at multiple LSU single season records this year.
She needs to make 43 more FTs this year to match the LSU single season FT record. And only another 37 to match the FT attempted record.
She's already 9th in rebounds in a season. It depends on how deep LSU goes, and she's currently 2nd in LSU history at 15.8 rebounds per game.
She's only the 2nd player in LSU history to have 3+ 20-20 performances in a single season.
eta: Still needs 156 points to break into the top 10 for points.
eta2: The writing is still on the wall regarding rankings. South Carolina will stay at #1 even if LSU wins. But LSU will jump to #2 in the rankings and will lock in a #1 seed with a win.

To be honest LSU didn't impress v A&M and they barely beat a Georgia team at home, who's not good. That game seriously looked like a loss before the last two minutes.
The Lady Tigers will have to seriously up their game to be in the mix v USCe.
UGA will be in NCAA Tourney, A&M just got back their 2 best players, one of whom was #1 ranked recruit last year- they will win some games in next few weeks. IU lost to a terrible MSU team that is 3-9 in Big 10 and 11-12 overall. Oh and SC beat Bama by 12 we beat them by 36- so keep making stupid comparisons.... And I know SC waxed teams we beat by less...

Know what looks worse? An actual loss.

quote:IF LSU wins on Sunday on the ROAD against the UNANIMOUS #1 team in the country, then whoever votes them anything but #1 next Monday is absolutely just a petty little a-hole. We’ve beaten everyone on our schedule up to now and would be the only remaining undefeated team with the best win in the nation.

I agree, but Kim rubs people the wrong way, especially the woke sportswriters of the USA.
Remember, she hated masks and would not defend that Griner guy.

Mulkey should and will use this as motivation (as if she needs more for a game like this one)...

100% guarantee LSU will be #1 if we beat USCe. But if we lose we could go anywhere from 6-15!!!

I guess Indiana's loss to a terrible 3-9 Michigan State team is not part of these voter's research
Indiana has beaten 5 or 6 teams who were ranked at the time. Including LSU's best win on the season (Tennessee).

Stanford just lost to a 12-9 team and they are way deeper/talented than LSU too
Everyone is in a difficult part of the season. Fatigue sets in. This is Kim’s 2nd year, the overall talent and overall depth will get much better once she gets more of her recruiting classes in
This was a tough week with 3 games and some very tough and emotionally draining ones

1. It doesn't matter because next game we've got a chance to prove it
2. Very rarely will a coach be 23-0 and have the "nobody believes in us" motivational chip to play for a conference game but Mulkey's got it now.

We did just go to OT with one and nearly give away another game to two losing record teams.

Indiana had one bad game from over a month ago against Michigan St, but they've had plenty of very good games lately. Over the last few weeks they beat 3 ranked teams in Ohio St, Michigan, and Maryland. Also, Indiana just beat Purdue by 23 points, while Purdue beat Michigan St. Purdue has beaten ranked teams this year, so that is a good win against a pretty good, and it shows that Indiana may have improved sine their loss to Michigan St.
Meanwhile, LSU has not played dominantly against mediocre teams lately. Indiana definitely seems like the better team today.
