In what universe does someone have the video game stats that JD has and not win the Heisman? It’s like the media hates the SEC so bad that they are holding up Bo Nix like he is the greatest QB ever. He literally lost their only top 10 matchup vs a team that has the 94th overall defense in college football. Then on top of that their whole offense is New Orleans Saints once Brees had no arm left. No passes further than 10 yards vs powder puff defenses. It shouldn’t even be a debate and it’s sad that it is

I made a thread about this last night essentially asking the following:

Who in this nameless, faceless “media” is holding him up? I’ve yet to see anyone with actual clout stumping for Bo Nix for Heisman.

Daniels has numbers so much better than the other 2 candidates that this really should not be a close vote, even with the losses. It's the silence, and lack of a nationwide love fest for such an elite player. If he was the favorite, and most of the media felt that way, he'd be getting the kind of coverage Manziel, Tebow, Caleb Williams, etc got. Instead, there are a few pundits scattered among the hundreds saying he should win it, when there should be widespread acclaim.

Kirk Herbstreit says JD5 is his choice. I do not think the media is ignoring JD5 at all.

The odds makers have Bo as the favorite, that is enough to tell you there that the media isn’t giving JD5 the praise an celebration someone with these stats deserve. The media loves west coast teams always has. That’s why all my life USC has always got the benefit of the doubt. Just look at the AP title they gave them over us years ago, dumbest thing ever

The universe that doesn't give media members a vote on the Heisman.

This is just not really true. I think we, as LSU fans, are more sensitive to those in the Media saying Nix should win which makes us think theres more of those idiots out there than there are but in reality the vast majority of pundits & talking heads are fairly bullish on JD5 being the guy that deserves the Heisman.

It's in the best interest of whoever is broadcasting games, to push someone they will broadcast. Thus, whoever shows the Pac 12 championship will tout it as the Heisman showdown between Penix and Nix.

Unfortunately for Daniels, he's now done until bowl season, so he can't generate any more viewers. The best he can hope for is to be mentioned in the SEC Championship, which could be a double-edged sword: if the UGA QB goes off on Bama, or if Milroe runs wild and makes a few crazy plays, it could be used to pump them up and dilute what Daniels did during the regular season. They won't win and won't be invited to NY, but the media could try to prop them up for next year.

I would say that anyone who respects individual effort and accomplishments should have Daniels already written in. He's head and shoulders above the others, at the individual level.

They have to pump up others to make it a story. How can yall not see this. The same way they talk about games that everyone knows shouldn’t be competitive yet they can make people believe a team has a chance.

No one would pay attention except LSU fans if they didn’t hype others to create drama

They aren’t creating drama though, Bo Nix is literally the betting favorite right now to win the Heisman and they haven’t even played the PAC-12 title game yet. Creating drama would be stating something that isn’t true and will never happen just to get people talking. A lot of people really believe Bo Nix is the better QB still and is more deserving because Oregon has 1 loss. My view is that 1 loss or 3 losses shouldn’t matter because Oregon winning the exact same thing as LSU this year, Nothing… If Oregon had Daniels they wouldn’t have a loss.

That’s why he’s the favorite. Oregon is a 9 point favorite in that game and the betting market is suggesting a win for Oregon there along with a solid game from Nix will push him over the edge.

If the vote were today it wouldn’t be close.

I think it be way closer than you think and it shouldn’t even be close. JD has better stats than pretty much every QB that has ever won the Heisman. If Georgia beats Bama and Florida State a Michigan win, then if Texas wins with their strength of schedule they should make it over Oregon regardless. I hope Oregon gets left out just so I can laugh, it be hilarious

And just so everyone understands. There has only been one player in History with more yards than Daniels that won the Heisman and that was Ty Detmer in 1990. Other than him JD has more yards than any other Heisman winner.
