An arse beating of epic proportions. LSU could have probably put up 100 if they wanted to.

Oklahoma: 322 total yards, 4 TDs for the game.
Joe: 403 yards, 7 TDs in the first half.

The coaches film room broadcast of that game was hilarious. Derek Mason just kept getting more and more pissed at what OU was doing on D.

He was amazed that they just kept blitzing inefficiently and letting Joe easily find the single covered WR

I was there. Closest thing to video game football I've ever seen.

Burrow left in the fourth quarter, having completed 29 of 39 passes for a career-high and College Football Playoff record 493 yards and the seven touchdowns, which broke the Peach Bowl, College Football Playoff semifinal, and New Year's Day Six Bowl records.

"January 13 is the record we're working on," Burrow said. Jefferson caught 14 passes for 227 yards and the career-high four touchdowns. LSU's 63 points was also the most in the history of the six New Year's Day bowls (Rose, Sugar, Orange, Cotton, Fiesta, Peach) and the most in a semifinal, which started in 2014.

I remember hearing the news of Carley McCord's death that morning before the game. I figured either we were going to destroy them or it could mess with the team's and Coach E's psyche and we'll play flat. Glad it was the former.

RIP Carley

We let up on them 5 min into the 3rd quarter. We could have scored another 49 in the 2nd half. They literally had ZERO answers.

My favorite pic from that game is Jetts counting 1-2-3-4 on his fingers after his 4th TD OF THE HALF!

Something I think about time to time, if that was the national title game and not a semifinal, do the starters stay in and they just keep running the score up in the 2nd half? Or does Burrow and the gang chill on the sidelines for half of their last game of their career together?

This is exactly why a 12 team playoff is full-on retarded. The true top two teams are just going to do spend their byes watching 10 wanna be champs beat each other up before they step into the ring and maul the best of the pretenders who make it to the round where the actual contenders are waiting.

We were there as well. I remember seeing the teams warming up and thinking LSU looked like an NFL team and Ok looked like a JV high team. Size, Depth, Speed etc.....Unfortunately, I felt the same at the SEC Championship game against UGA in 2022 except it was UGA looking like they were about to slaughter an undersized LSU team.

My favorite moment of that game?

Chaisson getting on the rest of the defense for extra-curricular activity that risked suspension for the Clemson game. One of the greatest '18' moments in history.
