In one of Burrow's post season interviews one comment sticks out the most to me.

I believe it was with Rich Eisen.

Burrow was asked, "what is your strength?" Paraphrasing....Burrow said his strength was his preparation. Starting on Monday and by Thursday he knew opposing defenses and where to attack them on Saturday.

God, I hope this is a QB tradition that stays with LSU forever.

Myles Brennan learned what it takes to be a championship QB.

Bet that.

I hope he has big dick Joe's Swag. Joe Burrow just knew they weren't stopping this offense and he did whatever to make that reality. JB the GOAT and now MB will hopefully be GOAT2.

Brady may have had something to do with that, but I think that it mostly speaks to Burrow's incredible work ethic. He put in the time to study film and gave 110% on every play. Burrow and Brennan seemed to have developed a close friendship, so hopefully some of that rubs off on Myles. Brennan seems like a good kid who takes the job seriously.

He also said the entire team was doing off-season player-only practices on Saturdays and sometimes Sundays. THAT is what makes an offense run like a Swiss watch.

At the championship level, it is more about the "Want-To" and the elbow-grease than the raw talent.

His preparation and pre-snap reads are huge parts of his success as is his toughness and competitiveness. That said, the biggest part of his game that is overlooked is...

FOOTWORK.

I don’t think people realize how hard it is to chain your base (feet) to your eyes and your progressions. Go back through the season and try to find a time when Burrow threw off his back foot from the pocket. Just didn’t happen. On the throws where he went through 2, 3, 4+ progressions, he was having to make changes to his base on every look. It’s incredibly tough to do when your internal clock is also running due to pressure. The guy is a fundamental dynamo.

Next years team will be a lot different. We will have Chase and Marshall back but will need a 3rd and 4th WR to step up. We also will need to replace Sullivan’s great run blocking. However, the 2 most important things to replace are the brains in the middle, Joe Burrow and Loyd Cushenberry. The blending experience, knowledge and talent will be very hard to replace next year. I think the team will gain a lot of experience next year and make their run in 2021.

Munoz was the guy that helped him with reading defense!

Well word on the street is Brennan is too worried about his girlfriend so his preparation will suffer.

He never threw off his back foot because of poor footwork, but there were times he threw off his back foot because it was the only way to throw the pass.

The 3rd and 17 against Texas he threw with his body twisting.

The play against Vanderbilt he threw off his back foot due to pressure from 2 Vanderbilt players and Chase went up and Mossed the defender for a big catch.

Sullivan's great run blocking? Agree with most everything else though.

You are right. Burrow mentioned this at the beginning of the season how much he worked on this footwork during the off season and how it led to him becoming a much improved passer. But he didn't talk much if any about it toward the end of this season probably because it started becoming second nature to him. But preparation for an opposing team is an every day/week thing.

My favorite comment, in response to a question from DP re how many TD's he saw coming pre snap :" well, I threw 60, so I guess about 30. " That's called preparation paying off.

One thing is certain. His pocket presence improved a ton from 2018.

Nobody I have ever seen can process on the college level like Burrow this season. When you look at guys like Jalen and Fields, even Tua, they are usually two target options max. Burrow could process the whole field like no one I've ever witnessed in college football.

Preparation and being able to process said preparation makes you the GEAUT.

He was out of the pocket on that throw.

Well at age 14, Myles Brennan can become the youngest NCAA champion ever.

He stepped up in the pocket, he never left the pocket.

Everyone seems to be overlooking that Burrow had no real responsibilities outside of football. Not having to go to class (if you have the discipline) means all that time to prepare for the next game.
