Because he didn't inherit a dumpster fire. He had a very talented lineup, and offense is his strength. Everyone knew the pitching was going to be suspect. But the offense was underachieving, the defense was regressing, and his in-game decisions have often been puzzling. This was his best week of in-game management this season, by far.
