Ree is here. The signal has been sent out to Ben and P&G.

Dont listen to the idiots who expected him to take us to the championship averaging 30ppg. Dude was a helluva player on a poorly coached team.

Only reason I come here. If everyone on the board was like me it would be boring.

Agreed. He was fun to watch. I think what left people pissed was how that team closed out the season, and seemed to just quit. Turning down an NIT bid was a a bad look as well. Simmons had a lot of the blame placed on him for that, because he was supposed to be the savior. The problems with that team started with the head coach and went all the way down to the players.

I disagree completely. Do you realize the amount of money you could make just for entertainment purposes alone?

That said, I agree about Ben Simmons. I will never understand why people hate him so much. Just the amount of exposure he brought to LSU should make people appreciate him. Are we really going to dismiss that the exposure he brought can't at least be partially responsible for the kids that are here now??

Simmons got a bad wrap for his time at LSU, some deserved and some not, but there's nobody on this team comparable to him.

I'm guessing this was after the North Florida 119-108 shootout...

Everybody knows that. They just can't admit they were wrong. They would rather look stupid than admit the obvious.
I wish we had five Ben Simmons on this team.

Is this your way of "convincing" us you're an LSU fan and not just an Orgeron fan?

You left off the 3.36 turnovers per game stat and the times he stood around doing nothing on defense stat.

He was also averaging nearly 6 assist per game...something the comparison tweet left out.

Simmons turned in one of, maybe the best individual season since Shaq's days at LSU. Too bad that team didn't defend anyone or keep teams off the offensive glass.

Scoring's fun, but the later two win games anywhere anytime

I remember what an empty stat stuffer he was. The guy was always flying around like a kamikaze and either turning it over or getting to the free throw line 20 times a game, and missing 8 or 10 of them.

Getting to the line as often as he did would have been great if he were a good shooter. But since he wasn't, it just meant that teams could hack on him and prevent better shooters from hurting them. And his out of control play, at times, trying to be mister cool, lead to as many forehead slapping turnovers as it did with spectacular assists.

He dogged it on defense at times, as I recall, and didn't seem to care to even pretend that he was serious about his one year of college education. I'm sorry, I don't hate the guy at all, but I don't identify with him.

(Edit) To those who have downvoted my post: Would you care to offer up a counter argument to anything I said? wanting to make a hero out of the guy just because he played for LSU, is not a valid reason to defend his selfish play, and overall antics when he was here.

Yeah and playing zero defense and not showing up in big games. Screwing up rotations by playing point guard when we already had two of those but only one other competent big guy. Oh, and totally destroying team chemistry with his documentary and total non student lifestyle. Topped off by signing with an agent at the end of the year and thus not eligible for NIT which caused us or NIT to back out on inviting us.
