First of all I didn't watch last year's spring game. But from the spring games before I really liked how it was more of a "game" with 4 downs and not just keeping one unit on the field. And they didn't have that goal line crap. It felt more like a real game than any other I have seen at LSU.

Between Jones, strong and Baskerville, they will find 2 LBs

Dude it’s the spring game you’re reacting as if it’s the 4th game of the season! Chill bro

Perhaps I forgot to express that my overall take was very positive. Looks like we will be WAY better on defense than last year.

There were no blown routes

That first Boutte touchdown was obviously a blown coverage as there was no one within 10 yards of him.

Not to mention that last touchdown pass to end the game by Nuss was also another blown coverage.

I actually believe Myles had the better day but Max is right there too.

Id give the nod to Max due to his wheels. Hopefully the starting O-Line looks better when they are all lining up for the same “team” at the same time...

Wouldn’t be pissed if it’s Myles though.

TJ is #3 at this point and Nuss probably isn’t much of a consideration in the race. He needs to sit a year considering who we have ahead of him

6. QB- I cannot decide between Max and Myles. It's a close race.
If that's the case, you go with the guy who will be here in 22 and 23.

I think he could be a starter for a smaller program if not another SEC team with a less talented qb room.

Only stayed for the first half:
-Oline pass protection looked good to me. Coverage must have been good because QBs only seemed to get pressured when they had to scramble out of the pocket to create more time.
-Run blocking wasn't all that bad. TDP looking like a clear #1.
-Defensive tackling seems improved.
-McGlothern looks like he's improving and made good plays in coverage.
-Kirklin had a lot of success getting under the coverage. Looks to be a solid possession receiver.
-Maason Smith got some good pushes when he wasn't double teamed. Got brought in with Zavier Carter on 3rd downs.
-QB#1 v. #2 is anyone's guess right now.

I wouldn’t sweat it too bad. We’re gonna be in a lot of 4-2-5 anyway facing spread offenses. I’d rather have Jay Ward or Sage Ryan covering people than a linebacker.

Relative to the o-line, the defense knows the offense wasn’t running much due to RB situation and the routes/formations.

agreed. Finley has a beautiful, tight throwing motion and a strong arm. I love watching him throw.

But he just stares down receivers, and at the SEC level, that doesn't work.

Maybe playing against lesser competition, he can get away with that. But against SEC defenses - no.

6-6 with all that talent on the field, what team were you watching. That D is loaded with size and speed.I believe
it is mare talented than 2019.Definatly on the DL which
is huge and mean.Offensively not as good as 2019 but if
last yrs team could score 32 ppg this O should average
in the high 30`S and with this D LSU could win anywhere
from 9 to 11 games .They could shock the nation.

I don't know what you were watching but either out Dline is elite, which they may be...but our OLine is nothing more or less than they were last year. No power, no technique, just the same old very average crap imho. Max is #1 to me and it really isn't close. Nussmeir had highs and lows, but has a lot more upside than TJ. Time for TJ to start to look elsewhere.
I was looking for some TE play but missed it if it was there. 2019 was great TE play and we need that again to compete. Small looked like a player Sampah looked ok also. I like Ward at Safety...we need big time help there....last year was the worst safety play in LSU history.
We need to find a running game, but we need an Oline that produces more than we saw today.

I liked what I saw out of all the QBs except TJ.
The O-line did struggle at times but it's hard to block when the defense knows what's coming. We didn't run many TE plays mostly just lined up far outside to take away a safety. Maybe they didn't want to show to much. Running backs were just average at best, hell Moore looked better back there. I don't think we will have a problem with WRs.

The defense looked stout! Still have some growing up to do in the back field but overall not too bad. The D-line is elite and will probably be the best in the nation.

I like this team, if the QBs can get it together this team will win a lot of games.

I saw a LB consistently get 4 yards on inside handoffs. I seen all 4 QBs with clean pockets to throw and i also saw some DL disruption. It was basically a stalemate. You act like the DL absolutely destroyed the OL. Watch the game over, it wasn't perfect but it wasn't bad OL play.

Finley could start for 20-25 P5 Conference teams.
