Didn't he give up the hit for mighty Brown to take the lead?

Nola gave up 3. He should probably be benched or cut.

So he gave up a hit, therefore he is a terrible closer?

Give up a hit and you're no longer a good closer...everyone knows that.

There's so much bad logic in this thread.

Bump...did you get to see last night's game? Your opinion might be a little different now that you have seen him face more than one batter!!!

he consistently cant get his breaking ball anywhere near the plate. Lamarche at closer would be a huge mistake. In fact he in no way can be trusted in close sec games at the moment.

He was off last night....and people saying he is ready to close are just dumb.

However, he brings something to the table. He needs to get it together and throw strikes to get us through the middle of the game. Bonvillian (sp?) showed me 0 which is concerning.....we need him for long/middle relief as well.

I'm interested to see what Rumbelow (sp?) does tonight......he is kind of an x factor at this point.

100% agree, his velocity is great and his breaking ball is sick when thrown for strikes. Way too inconsistent at this point to even be thought of as a closer. If he finds his control, he has a very high ceiling.

I thought he looked OK for a couple of innings. But I think it's becoming obvious that he's not as effective after 3 innings or so.
