re: IMO, Nuss needs another full year of experience at least to become a really good qb.

The worst part is I LOVE Nuss's moxy and intangibles. I want him to be good SOOO bad. I just feel like he does things the right way and deserves to be good. He just can't stop putting the ball in danger. I hope he comes back and can figure out how to overcome this major flaw in his game.

Nuss doesn’t have the mentality to be really good. He has the same mechanical problems he had as a freshman and still throws the ball to the defense at an alarming rate. The ship has sailed, he’s been with the same coaching staff for three years now(minus Denbrock) and hasn’t figured it out.

I might agree if he were not getting worse.

Since he only has one more year of eligibility, I would just as soon start the QB of the future next year if we have to develop the next guy. Or go to the portal. of course, Nuss will probably elect to come back and he will be the starter if that's the case.

The X factor here is this year’s QB draft class. It may be in Nuss’ best interest to go now and let his arm impress scouts against this year’s much thinner group. Even with the recent swoon and issues with decision making, he’s still an upper level prospect this year. He would have a lot tougher competition for a draft spot if he waits a year, even if he plays much better.

Nuss is consistently throwing back foot, he has regressed. Rarely does he step up in the pocket and release. He is not the future.

I agree that he has regressed. Disagree with stepping up in the pocket part. Difficult to step up in the pocket when your center is on skates and getting pushed backward. Chester has by far the lowest grade of the OL. Bama constantly sent blitzers right up the A gap for a reason.

I'm ready to move on from Nus. Let's see what one of these other guys can do.

Reality is starting to sink in. He's at best a mid-major QB. You're not going to win the SEC or go to the playoffs with him at the helm.

How long do we reward Nuss' loyalty for sticking around? It's caused me to be patient with him but it's really thinned out a ton.

Makes me wonders are the backups all just that bad or are we just willing to take our lumps to reward Nuss for staying.

Keep him, and hope Underwood signs and earns the starting job.

Well, we saw Mett, JB and Jayden Daniels all improve drastically in their second full season as Tiger signal caller, so it's possible with Nuss.

He's starting to gain credibility as a runner as well. I think he'll improve if he stays for next year

If he is unsure , he will not run and will force the ball often to a double covered deep guy when he has the underneath route . A selfish player IMHO .

Nah I'm ready to turn the page to Underwood. It's not a knock to Nuss. I think he's a very capable QB. He would be much better with a running game... but this offense is not suited for a QB that isn't a threat with legs.

What physical traits are those ? Wont run , no peripheral vision , can’t read defenses , accuracy up and down , throws high on the run , afraid of contact . Send him to Tijuana .

He’s got a good arm that’s about it. Nothing outside the pocket and just seemingly doesn’t have the ability to rise to the moment
