I think they could have waited later than 4:30 yesterday to postpone Game 3, knowing what today's forecast was supposed to be. That was the reason they decided to play a Friday DH in the first place.

They can’t play tomorrow due to SEC rules. The 3 games must be played in within the 3 scheduled days of play.

I’ve yet to see anyone post the actual rule, so I’ll just ask. Is it the rule that the home team can just cancel games whenever they feel like it? I would think that would be a call the league makes.

Its up to the home team administration until first pitch, where the umpires/SEC take over.

They could have. But one or both sides werent interested apparently. Ignore the rest of the thread saying “hindsight”. We were discussing that possibility on this board tuesday and wednesday. The weather forecast always showed this as a likelyhood early this week

My whole point of this was confirmed by some of the replies against the OP.
If SC really is a good team and thinks they could win the series, why did their administration etc seem to try so hard to avoid game three?
I know players are not scared (that was kidding) but someone or ones of authority at SC had other motives. Until they come out and explain otherwise, I will have my doubts.
If CJJ agreed, why doesn’t he make a statement saying so?
Doesn’t everyone want to see all scheduled games played?

I don’t see how they tried hard to avoid playing 3 games. It rained all evening yesterday and will be raining all day today. A South Carolina reporter said on AFR on Wednesday that playing 2 on Thursday would be up to LSU.
