When neither team could really score in the second half, winning field position and playing defense BUT last night on 4th and 1 with a chance to ice it, I would have 100 percent gone for the win right there. We get one yard, its game over. 1 yard. Spread the field and no backs with the ball in the qbs hands rolling out or an outside play they not ready for that Lane had in his back pocket. fricking bunch it up in the middle and play action that shite.

Im behind Lane 100% and am still behind him 100% but not taking that chance was a brutal gut punch last night.

Meh. I don't hate punting right there. Put UK in a very difficult spot.

LSU is up by 3, UK has no timeouts. Less than 2 minutes to go.

LSU was deep in their own end of the field - they go for it and don't make it, UK gets the ball back almost in the red zone.

Punt the ball away, UK has no timeouts and a long way to go.

I like the decision by CLK right there.

This season was never resulting in a playoffs especially after Ole Miss. Until Baker is gone and takes his head coaching job don’t trust his defense again.

That’s all logical thinking but we now have a large sample of a baker defense folding in the last 2 minutes of a half.
1:45 in college is a long time with clock stopping to reset the chains even without any timeouts.
He should’ve iced it by converting that 4th and 1 and not give his defense a chance at messing up.

Punting there is the conventional wisdom.

Lane is well known for going for it in similar situations. In fact, we had gone for it on 4th down earlier in the game with worse field position.

Either strategy can work or fail, but when you hire a guy like Kiffin, you expect him to go for it.
