Well yeah, how could you not be skeptical. We could be bringing in the 5 best players in the portal and I'd still expect to lose

That is a pretty weak-minded attitude. Not to mention illogical.

frick us for not thinking that it's possible to lose with all of the best guys that weren't getting playing time on other teams?

Or they are trying to play up a level in competition..the portal isn't full of power 4 stars my man

The question is ,did florida and auburn get lucky with their small school transfers or were they coached up

Maybe we just didn't get the right guys in the last two years or we don't have the coaching or evaluation talent to do what they did

The skepticism is warranted. Aside from Dedan Thomas, I fail to see what philosophy and/or vision McMahon is hoping to achieve. Maybe the other transfers will pan out but we have reasons to be doubtful.

It was this time a year ago that Jordan Sears’ praises were being sung on this board.

All good questions. I'm in the wait-and-see and try not to get sucked in too much into the hype mode for now.

The sharpshooter is gonna help. He's gonna need to bump l up that volume of shots though. I think he could actually play pg and let dedan play shooting guard

frick you and frick everyone with this kind of attitude. You mother frickers just can't be positive.

They are probably adults and realize that, because of how things have gone since McMahon has been here, its hard to get excited about the players coming in. With those players, he will have to prove to the fans that he is indeed able to coach a winning team in the SEC.

That's not being negative, that's just reality.

These transfers give me hope

Sure, I’m not sure that cornerstone players are common or even known anymore before the season. We’ve got a couple good ones, and some others. I don’t expect any of our incoming freshman to have a huge impact their freshman season. LSU could obtain 3 more players if I’m recalling correctly. So it might not be over.

You need a fact check on this one?

ETA. Technically correct 2 NCAA tournament wins in 10 years of coaching at Murray St and LSU.

Never heard of any of the transfers, much less the schools they come from. I’m not expecting much.

Yeah but he’s only made the tournament 4 out of 10 years (giving him the benefit of the covid year). His record both before and since coming to LSU against P5 teams is not good.

You have never heard of Mississippi state or UNLV?

I am skeptical also. I know people might disagree but only one comes from the SEC and he played 15 minutes per game this year. I know it’s a start but do not get your hopes up.

you are assuming the losing was to do with bad coaching and not bad players, and I dunno if that is a fair assumption.

My two eyes say he’s very poor at making decision on and off the court. Let’s just say I’m wrong and he’s a fantastic coach. Did our athletic department let it go by the wayside? Either way it isn’t good.

They have talent but it’s going to come down to team chemistry and coaching

So you consider that every team that makes the NCAA men’s basketball tournament a Div. I team?

What schools do you consider Div. I?
