I want to take a moment to man up.

I was one who made fun of the binder. I was one who cursed Joe Alleva for his hire. I was one who thought we would be better off keeping Les. I was one who thought he would run this program into the ground like he did at Mississippi.

I’m sorry.

I will eat an entire shite burger without brushing my teeth afterwards.

And may those who give this a thumbs down drown in a tub of bathwater.

And some of y’all need to get the stick out of your arse about the comment above. It’s a joke. Don’t be a Nancy.

I think a lot of us who were even ok with the hire were wrong.

Not sure anyone but Ed Orgeron expected this level of success.

I was wrong about O as well. He’s exceeded all my expectations and I’m proud of him. But this thread is weird, so have a downvote.

Leave this part out and I’d have probably gone the other way.

You don’t have to apologize for being skeptical in 2016. We could win 100 titles with Coach O and I still would say anyone who wasn’t was wrong at the time.

I’m certainly enjoying the ride too though

The deal is- this is LSU. I think most of us were expecting to hear big names leaked and the names of some major impact people with interest.

We all wanted someone that put us back in contention for championships. Someone that could take us up another level... take us to the playoffs and someone that could beat Alabama. Someone that would get out of the forever-I-formation and into the 20th century.

And Coach O was hired. His 3.5 salary at the time was a little-bit of a prove it deal.

Most fans were at least a little bit disappointed that the hire wasn’t “sexy”. I was in that camp, but I knew that if O recruited for the sane level as Miles did, he wouldn’t be so stubborn as to keep the same tired offense.

And here we are... the season isn’t over. We haven’t won anything... but we’re 8-0 and #1 in the AP Poll because we got a better resume than anyone else.

Props go out to Coach O for his hires, his recruits, the improvements he’s made on our already stout program.

We’re in contention folks. We’ve got a legit shot at getting in the playoffs!!!

And damn it feels good. GEAUX TIGERS!!!

No need to be sorry. I was sort of cringing when Coach was named permanent, but I never bashed him on here or in public IRL. I did tell my wife and grown sons that while I was skeptical about the hire, I hoped he would be a good fit and wished like hell for the best for him and this program, but privately I had my doubts.

I also discounted his time at ole miss. I looked at his time at USC and saw how much his players respected him and played their hearts out for him. I’m glad USC passed on him for permanent coach because he is here now. He is the perfect fit for this program and this state from a cultural standpoint, and the fact that he has proven thus far to be such an outstanding recruiter and has the ability to adapt and evolve our offense and schemes the way he has is amazing.

He’s our coach and to me, I wouldn’t trade him for anyone at this point. He is home.

and you'd probably downvote your b/f for pulling out

That's a painful admission.

I was, too. And I was very wrong.

Will O win a NC? Maybe, maybe not. But this team is humming and recruiting is somewhat amongst the constellations. We dodged a pair of bullets with Jimbo and Herman.
